My $170 Jumbuck BBQ from Bunnings. Chucked the old hooded grille / plate / wok burner ( never got used in 10 years ) number out and got a new 6 burner flat plate Jumbuck. Love it. No bells, no whistles, just a big arse hot plate. Best move.

As per usual, I'm not sure where to stick this.

I don't think you can put a price on what they went through but so be it, half the population put the boyfriend in the hot seat.

Sounds good. Is it sitting outside? (Is it chained to anything?)

Yep, I have one that looks like it got dragged up off the Titanic, works a treat, I won't upgrade as it's too hard to find one all hotplate, I hate grills.

Locked up behind gates, with 2 rottweilers, alarms, sensor lights.

Still worried about it.

One of the best pieces of advice my step Dad ever gave me was not to stuff around with a grill and always get my hands on a flat hotplate for a BBQ. On the occasional time I've had to use a grill (airbnb, etc) I've hated it especially the cleaning!

You should get some cable ties for extra security…

They incinerate anything marinated, slow and steady for the BBQ, a solid 2-3 beer journey.

Easier to sort on the hotplate too, sit in in the corner to keep warm while something else is cooking.

 you have to clean a grill?

I’ve got a Weber wire brush which cleans the whole grill in 30 seconds tops.

I bought a Beefeater 6 burner just before Christmas, have cooked on it 4 nights a week since.

Spargo, those wire brushes are great. My lad bought me some bbq tools from Gaganis Bros, they are great too. Will be picking up the rotisserie tomorrow to use on Australia Day

Lamb chops, kebabs, steak, chicken wings on the grill.
Snags, burgers, onions and sliced spuds on the hotplate.

Most over-rated thing to cook on the BBQ, the marinade burns cooking them on the grill and there is stuff all meat on them, I'll do the buffalo wings as they are meaty and the teenagers fill up on them and leave the steaks alone.

Working from home at the moment so I've had time to have the rotisserie going 3 - 4 nights a week, happy days.

If I'm buying good steak, on the coals, if it's a weeknight slap up BBQ on the plate.
