Based on some of the shite on this forum I'd say this topic is a good chance to hit at least double figures.

Of course I am, I coughed up $380 ******* dollars to be entitled, the whole ******* point! lol

I'm guessing you didn't get lucky with the missus after your Saturday arvo drinking sesh and went to bed hungry?
Is that what this is really all about it? ;)

His missus went to bed hungry. All she had for tea was a small snag. Booney on the other hand had a massive muff burger so he was full as a bull
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Re : breakfast between 9 and 10 - As much how it was delivered as the actual news, as in, don't ask for anything other than between 9 and 10. you'll get a no.

Re : the decor / bathroom, not a complaint, observation.

Re : Sensor light - Yeah, we closed the curtains. I drove a car there, I'm not a ******* idiot and can capably close curtains. Insufficient to block out the light.

Re : Pillows and robes. The staff all ****** off at 5pm, there was nobody there to go and speak to!

Re : Dinner. Fair play. However the Pavillion and kitchen looked set up for meals, should have looked into it, wasn't something I thought we'd need to do.

Re : Breakfast. Was pretty clear the chick making breakfast was cleaning up in the kitchen. The emphasis on the "10 guests" was reflective of there being 10 eggs, 10 sausages, 10 tomato's in the bain marie.

$380 per night and I'm turning fridges off, trying to fix their shitter just so I can get to sleep and I'm whinging?

How long ago did you stay there?

Is it like a "share house", was the bathroom for your use only?

OK, I'm just trying to envisage the joint, when the missus and I go away we're more than happy to not see anyone whatsoever.

Check out Donnybrook Cottage in Clare for a future getaway, plenty of eateries nearby and has everything you need there if you'd prefer to have a quiet lock in and prepare your own meals etc. The Cottage has a big spa, cosy lounge room with good heating and plenty of other things to make the stay enjoyable.

Well priced too and along the Riesling Trail.

If you're investing decent coin into a weekend away you have certain expectations.

If you have the Bill Gates bank as Benny does then you probably dont care too much for value ;)

Thanks for the heads up @Booney

If it was half as bad as what you say it was and I took the Mrs there, I would get nothing but earache all weekend long and nothing of what I want. ;)

Getting this thread back on track.

Took the Mrs on her last day of leave up into the Hills on Friday.

We lunched at Maximillans at Verdun - in the Ent book in section A

Started with a shared starter of Meatballs, with Mustard white sauce, and parmesan. They were very nice and beautifully seasoned and herbed.

We had the Coorong Angus Chateaubriand for two to share with a side of been s and cherizo.

Beef was cooked beautifully for me but the middle bits were too pink for the 'er indoors. but it was still fantastic.

A bottle of the Longview 'Devils Elbow' Cab Sav to wash it all down and we were both too stuffed for dessert.

Total bill was $132 for (with discount).

Was a nice afternoon so we adjourned next door to their cellar door and had a few tastes and brought a Shiraz and Sauv Blanc and a six pack of pear cider which she loved.

Two more glasses of wine whilst we sat on their deck and contemplated life in the mid afternoon was a good end to the day.

A good feed and with the Ent book good value.

Solid 8/10
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I've also stayed at lanzerac, and thought Jacobs creek was better. Though lanzerac was cheaper and probably better value
