#1 son playing his first game of senior footy tomorrow, always had doubts whether he would continue with footy after his junior days, rapt that he is.

Although it's been a relatively timely process and one that I've chosen to take on myself as I have with most of the new experiences since taking on my new role, the feeling you get when you tell someone that they are the successful applicant is something that will always stick with me.

Knowing that you have changed someone's life, eliminated a stressor that they have is a very satisfying accomplishment, hearing their jubilation makes you feel great as a person when at the end of the day it was them that swayed you in their direction.

I've had to face it all in the 6-7 months in the role, it's been very challenging and I am exhausted but it's all falling into place now.

One thing I've learnt is that I just have to back my own judgement.

Yep, smarmy little prick probably spent all night the night before wording his question just to throw the "Gotcha!" on the end.

Casting a satisfied eye over the back garden from the deck after an hour of “pottering”… job done, frosty tin cracked. Now to cheer on the Roosters and a few nags at Ascot!
