Yes it is, and a flight from Paris would most likely flown overhead of Libya. Although I would have thought most commercial airlines would avoid Libyan airspace...

True story when I flew to Europe for the first time via the middle east. Remember checking the in house flight data and see us directly over Iraq my next thought was if things went pear shaped in the next 45-60 minutes getting out of this tin can is the least of my problems.....
Bit of a reality check being 30,000 + feet above where real life Call of Duty is playing out
