Pffft, it was my brothers birthday, my first free Saturday for a while and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I stuffed up a bit, I'm sure I will again.

Them shooter buckets from Sip'n'Save are now on the banned list.

They ruined her and her friend last Friday night, knocked her on her arse again Friday then me on Saturday night, I fell down my stairs from top to bottom, including a dogleg.................she loved it.

Yeah, $38 for 28 shooters at Sip'n'Save's, they seem like a good idea at the time, they hit you like a cement mixer from nowhere after a while, mind you I probably should've spent an hour or so off the gas once I got home from the pub.

Just got served dinner at my ryokan in Nikko. Except for some sashimi and some strips of pork that I'm supposed to braise in that water, I legit have no idea what the rest of it is

But I'm already 2x500ml cans of asahi from the vending machine deep and when I asked for beer the waitress just brought me a long neck.

So I'm game to try it all at the moment haha

Good stuff Benny. It's great to get outside the comfort zone with food when OS.

Longy #2

No mention of whether this is included in the price of dinner (which was part of the room)

I suspect not but I'm gonna roll that dice :)

Had a meal at the Ark tonight, it has improved a hell of a lot in 12 months and it needed to. A bit dear for a pub restaurant though.

Guess you don't get much for that price

How are you shaping up the morning after Benny...no serious repercussions from the feed?

Nah, no repercussions.

didnt sleep that well though. The futon was pretty thin compared to some others i have slept on, and the quilt wasnt long enough - so i could either pull it up to my neck and let me feet hang out or cover my feet and my chest was poking out.

not a huge fan of japanese breakfasts - too much smelly fish in the morning - the whole place stank as soon as you walked out of your room. so i decided to go for the western instead. which was still weird.

eggs and bacon were sitting in a bowl raw, and they again lit a flame under it to cook them. was kinda nice. bacon didnt taste anything like our bacon though.

then I had a plate which had 3 cold cocktail sausages on it with tomato sauce, some potato salad, a bit of tomato, a huge pile of lettuce with dressing on it, and then to top if off a big slice of grapefruit and some kiwi.

also got some miso soup which was fine, but they also gave me some broth again which tasted like a ramen noodle style broth - was i supposed to put the bacon and eggs in it? i dont know!

still all tasted good though

early start was great though, went out to kegon falls and lake chuzenji.

heading straight to the airport now. trip home is going to suck - hour on the bus back to nikko, then 1hr45 to asakusa, then subway to tokyo, then narita express to terminal 2, then fly to melbourne and finally back to adelaide. roughly 24 hours till i get home.

I miss the OHalloran Hill bakery, especially their chicken and asparagus pies.

St Peters Bakehouse@Torrensville

Cheers, will give it a try. Could almost walk to it.

Ha! Good luck, the worst service in the West of Adelaide.

Been black listed.

Tried it today, service was good but pie was only average, will keep searching.
