Not sure if that particular show is classed as science-fiction..but..I was only thinking the other day, prompted by a couple of nerds at work who are always discussing Dr Who and other science-fiction programs..I was thinking to myself "Am I the only person ever who couldnt care less about Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who etc"?

I just couldn't care less.

Nup, you aren't alone mate. I have not watched any of the Star Wars movies in full, Star Trek I simply know nothing about, well, I know of it but have never watched it and when you say Dr.Who, I say Dr.Who?

I'm in the same boat. The way people rave on about certain shows doesn't make me want to watch them either.

I've never heard of "Game of Thrones", and don't watch much of the stuff on TV lately.

However, I am fond of real "Science Fiction", just not much of the strange programmes and books put under that banner these days.
I do watch some of the older re-runs on TV when in the mood for something light and not necessarily very sound on the science.

SciFi is reasonably popular among science orientated people.
The other day I was talking to an expert on Parasitology at the SA Museum - Parasitology was his PhD subject.
I said, "I guess the ultimate form of parasite evolution would have to be the Trill."
He knew exactly what I was referring to - if you don't, "Deep Space Nine" re-runs are on TV lately. ;)
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

In his 1990 debut album, To The Extreme, Vanilla Ice featured a track called "Havin' a Roni" as the final song. Among the lyrics were, "what it's like, havin' a roni". Could someone, please, explain what a roni is, how you would have one and what the experience would be like if you were having one?

According to the most reliable internet source, "Urban Dictionary"

Referred to in Vanilla Ice's beatbox song, "Havin' a Roni," is a virgin, according to Ice himself. However, the term is used often in hip hop, and is short for "tenderoni," which is defined as a "sweet girl."

Then again, Vanilla Ice can make up some dumb shit.

Charlene, in 1982, famously sang about "having been to London and Paris" but never having been to me. She also listed off Paradise as somewhere she'd been (it's great that she included a suburb of Adelaide in her jet set life). However, she claimed to have "never been to Me", where is 'Me'?

From what I can fathom there is no town called Me specifically, however I think the abbreviation for Maine is ME. Therefore, I suggest she's never been to Maine

So, Charlene has been to Paradise, SA, but not Maine, USA? Interesting.

In the 2004 song Drop It Like It's Hot by Pharell, feat Snoop Dogg, the rappers refer to "see these ice creams". By watching the film clip, you can decipher that ice creams are shoes. Why would they refer to them as ice creams? Do they have a shoe fetish and think their Nike Air Jordan classics are lickable?
