yes. But works out on your log book. You claim 75 % of your expenses , you can claim 75% of the tolls you use

plans to move the adelaide airport

Not plans, an editorial that says we should think about it :)

It is an interesting article though. The airport is unusually close by big city standards, and it wouldn't make sense to spend billions if the airport that has to be moved.

Whether it needs to be moved In 50 years time I have no idea

Sydney would also be unusual in that regard. And they have well publicised issues with their airport and the fact that it is so undersized for the city size.

Where would you move the airport if you were going to?

Probably only a couple of locations you could build a new one. Option 1 would be out Murray Bridge/Mannum way or option 2 is up in the plains maybe Mallala, both would require a fair bit spent on infrastructure.

Yeah I would think Murray bridge way would have been the way to go

If building a new airport is the way to go, surely they'd have the foresight to either build adjacent to an existing rail line, or construct a new one?

That's probably the one thing Adelaide Airport lacks at the moment.

I can't see it happening, not for a long, long time. If it were to be a "goer", I wouldn't think the plains ( Mallala etc ) or Murray Bridge would be a sound proposition as they are both some distance from the CBD. I'd think the Globe Derby / AIR / Lower Light area would be an option or on the left of the Northern Express Way where the current glider club is. Plenty of space at both of those points and not too far from town.

The current airport is set for an expansion with a hotel added and a terminal upgrade in the next 24 months, but I think this is also on "hold" at the moment.

The current location is perfect and so much land still available to use, would be silly to move it.

The current location also prevents buildings in Adelaide being taller. The City should be moving upwards not outwards, highrise apartments are the way to go

this is probably the biggest issue imo. there seems like a bunch of land still there but if it keeps the city from growing then it becomes a problem.

That glider club is currently being consider for a land grab by Light Regional Council, to be used for housing.
