Was driving in the NEXY and the wind whipped up suddenly. Absolutely bucketing down so pulled over for a minute and it passed very quickly

Without power for 12 hours yesterday, dog is still freaked out, large gum tree fell across Gorge Rd a few hundred metres down from us. Quiet day other than that.

Could be worse, wouldn’t want to be in FNQ in the next couple of days.

It’s not a how big’s my dick situation, 130km/hr winds and a storm surge on a king tide is nothing to sneeze at. [-X

By the way, predicting a cyclone in Darwin around Christmas. Not sure how big* ;;)

They're thinking Jasper may go on a bit of a cruise across the Gulf and Arafura sea, similar to this one http://www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/history/ingrid.shtml

This one had me nervous unlike Gretel given it was Cat 5-4 as it tracked across the top of the NT
