Going to all the trouble of setting up CCTV and having THAT grainy-a-footage that you can't make out who it is when you have to see the footage playedback.

What's the point?

Someone with 'authority' telling people that something will be done a certain way...

Then no more than a minute later, doing exactly what they said not do, themselves...

Frustratingly contradictive :?

it is probably the cold. cold weather slows down the chemical reaction in the battery, so it doesnt have as much power to start your car. once warm the reaction can happen faster, giving more power and starting the car. sounds like it is time for a new battery.

meanwhile, what sort of car does a car drive????

 thats not a bad model, althought it may be time to start looking to trade it in ;)

meanwhile, if you didnt want to admit to the fun police that they were right, just tell them that the dodgy lead was not allowing the battery to charge properly, and that the lack of proper charging has killed the battery. if you had just changed the battery the lead would have caused the death of the new battery as well.......
it will sort of allow you to be right, almost...

Cheers mate, initially the terminal clamp was a bit loose and wasn't all the way down, so I cleaned the terminal and adjusted it to push all the way down, the starter motor looks pretty new, I thought it would've died by now full stop if it was the alternator so I was going to get the battery checked today if I got out of work early enough.
Might just bite the bullet and buy one anyway and tell her how wonderful she is and because she's the expert she can put it in :D

yeah, i have a mate in the RAA and he always tells me winter is the death of car batteries. if they are already on their way out, the cold weather helps finish them off. i need one for the missus car as well, it is definatley on its last legs, just not at the point of jump starting yet, but i am trying to put it off. i am sure i will soon get an angry phone call cos she is stuck somewhere with a flat battery! and you are right, if the alternator wasnt charging correctly it would probably happen at other times of the day too.
