On the way home I had to drop into my local shopping centre, as I got about 20m from the mall doors two ladies and a kid about 7 walk out to be confronted by a bloke on a bike that just launched into them. They were migrants and this guy just started the “go home you…..”, “you “….”, you can imagine the racist rhetoric. The kid just burst into tears, my heart melted.

I rushed the bloke so they could get away and took his attention away. He even threw a gravy boat at me, where he got that from I have no idea.

It sorted of effected me the past hour, I didn’t expect it to. Hope the girls are ok, I didn’t get the chance to check.

Why are people like this, clearly he either wasn’t all there or on drugs.

Well done for taking some action, many wouldn't, its horrible for us to see stuff like that - you can only imagine how it would impact the victims.

agreed, well done for sticking up for them.

you really do wonder how common that sort of stuff is.

our neighbours are migrants. lovely people. we treat them the same as we have any of our other neighbours. say hi if we see them, bit of a chat out the front now and then, keep to ourselves pretty much otherwise.

their friends when they come over love us, keep telling us they wish they had neighbours like us. makes you a bit sad thinking that if the way we behave is regarded so highly, how bad do they usually get treated?

Electricity prices going up again.
**** me!
I’ve got solar so I’m not too bad off but I feel for people who don’t.
Quarterly bills for families must be close to $1k now.

The feed in is **** all these days. Although looking at my last bill I suspect my panels may be on the fritz, only $22 credit for Dec to Mar quarter on 5c feed-in with a 3.5kw system. Sound right?

$22 credit for the bill or $22 credit for feed in tariff?
I’ve got 6.5kw system and my last bill I sold 2000kw at 8.5c back.
Got $170 credit for the feed in tarriff.

Yours does sound a bit low

$22 for the feed-in. Probably need a good clean, used more this year than the same period last year but last years credit and export were double. When I got them around 5 or 6 years ago I was getting close to 25c I reckon.

Its crazy, I have seen no rational explanation on why the prices are rising by this much, anyone have some insight? Who holds this industry accountable?

Gas is just as bad apparently, my oldies don't use their gas heater anymore due to $1k bills.

If they're getting $1k gas bills, they've got a gas leak or VERY inefficient heating!

i have a 3 bed house and at worst, the winter bill including heating and cooking is only about $400 (ducted gas heating)

Retired couple, home all day everyday, older but not too old rinnai type gas heater, probably on 6-8 hours a day in winter.

Yeah it does if the feed in is only 5c. Still for a summer period that's pretty good.

The Regulator does and they have approved this for the last financial year energy prices, wholesale is up about 20%, but what ****** is that over the last few years in SA it's actually decreased but of course we didn't see any savings at the retail level.

Because it's simple the retailers are absolutely ******* us.

To break that statement down. Wholesale energy costs per MWHr are about $100. So each MWhr produced is sold for on the market for that $100 (going up to $120 soon bur let's keep with the 100 for this example).

So what do you pay per kWHr? Probably about 37c or maybe say 40c. So work that out and convert thr KWhr to MWhr which is a factor of 1000 (I.e kilo to mega).

Therefore if you scale this up to conpare you are paying $400 per MWHr. That's a 400% increase from what your retailer buys it for.

Again the retailers are ******* us.

Having to be at the Sydney airport at 8.30am tomorrow morning when you're still celebrating a 6-1 win against the odds at Parramatta pubs till some ungodly hour and it doesn't look like finishing soon

How impressed would you be if you are the passenger in the next seat sitting next to a bloke that’s asleep, stinking of alcohol and kebab.

Ha ha, their fault for taking a vacant middle seat in the emergency row!
On the way over a bloke walked past me when they were explaining the emergency procedures and said "Our fates are in your hands? Oh god!"
Hate to think of what someone will think today with the way I look/feel
If I look half as bad as I feel a zombie from the walking dead would look more pleasant. Even a Broncos player laughed when he went past me seeing the way I looked asking if I had a big night.
