They’re really not hard things to do.

To avoid this.

dedja wrote:Daughter called at 7pm tonight saying she couldn’t start her car. Over the phone prognosis suggested a likely flat battery, so I hop in the car to meet where she was parked to jump start and get her on her way.

Car started with a jump start but the battery was so flat the power steering would cut power and stall the car when the steering wheel was turned. Tried to idle for a while to get some juice into the battery but it wouldn’t hold enough charge.

Too late to get a new battery so had to leave the car there … will pickup a new battery first thing in the morning and replace.

The only problem is that the car is parked in a lane that is a bike lane from 7:30am-9:30am, and there’s no way I can get there before then with the new battery, so she will get a fine which we’ll have to appeal.

My previous dealings with councils tells me that they won’t budge and will enforce the fine.

The parking inspector specifically mentioned a vexatious litigant she takes no notice of, some bloke called Dave from Alberton.

What’s worse, cheap aftershave/perfume or rancid BO?

We’ve got blokes at work who don’t use deodorant but wear cheap aftershave and have rancid BO.
That’s a treat for the senses, I can tell you…

We had a teacher at high school that we called "Yeti", he was a very strange cat, no deodorant and wore the same shirt every day, you could see the sweat stains from the previous day circling under his armpits.

One day I snuck into his room and left a cake of soap on the ledge of the blackboard, I wrote a little note on his blackboard for him too based on an old tv ad.

"Don't wait to be told
You need Palmolive Gold,
But we all think you stink
So use Palmolive Pink"

He went about business as per usual, he even wrote his maths formula's around my message, he must have taken the soap home but it made no difference.

We have a close female friend who douses herself in Chanel #5

If I bump into her when I'm out, I go home smelling of it
Fortunately, Mrs Jimmy is well aware so I dont get in trouble

I have now gifted Chanel #5 to 20 female friends

The amount of people when entering a lift just barge straight in without giving anyone inside a chance to escape.
And then when they do "move" it's still blocking half the _^#&#&$ doorway

Me: Left my old workplace forfeiting over 870 hours of sick leave and vowing to not let them build up so much again.

Also me: 13 months into my new job and haven't taken a sickie.

Before we were sold to a multi national 4 years ago our previous owners, discretely so not as a rule, would often pay out sick leave at 50% rate at the end of the year if you chose to do so. Often I'd have 20 or 30 days up my sleeve so come Xmas time I'd cash in 5 days worth of leave for 2.5 days pay for a little bit of extra coin over the break. A few hundred bucks is handy when a night out arrives unexpected.
