Wedgie, not only that but you sacrifice many hours in administering this site. I too believe you will be in heaven. Heaven for you will be when North claim the flag this coming October though, I believe!

The mighty West Torrens line up against Woodville in the A Grade Grand Final over the next two days. I will be a heathen and not be there on Sunday. Instead, I will be at Clare attending a concert given by the Choir Boys, Mental as Anything, Russell Morris, Brian Cadd, John Swan and a few others. I have to give the missus some of the weekend after all!

Mind you, I am supposed to have been doing report writing and marking all day today - am about seven hours behind schedule due to procrastinating (I hate writing reports!!)

That concert at Clare sounds a ripper, I'd wish you a good day but I doubt you'll need it as it sounds like it'll be a great day!
Enjoy my friend! :D

Thanks, Wedgemeister - am looking forward to the concert very much. It goes for eight hours. I just have to somehow do another fifteen hours of report writing, attend the Grand Final tomorrow, a long Easter Mass on Saturday night and get an hour or two of sleep if I am going to make it there! Here's hoping!!

Attending Mass daily or several times a week, praying the rosary, making the way of the cross, attending the parish evening prayer service, teaching the illiterate to read, reading to the blind, helping at a soup kitchen, visiting the sick and shut-ins and giving an overworked mother a break by baby-sitting—all of these can be even more meaningful and demanding than simply abstaining from meat on Friday.

What if the soup kitchen is serving pea and ham soup?

We make sure that we don't on Good Friday. However, as stated above, it is not that big a thing nowadays. The Church would prefer that we do something good for another than worry about not eating meat. Many will still follow the 'no eating of meat' rule but it is not that big a deal.

I have heard this comment alot and would be very interested to hear how Religion was the cause of the wars that Australia has fought in, being the Boer War, Maori Wars, WW1, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam, The First Gulf War, Afghanistan & the Second Gulf war.

It would seem to me that these are largely political conflicts rather than religious conflicts. Interestingly Hitler and Stalin who caused WW2 were both Athiests, so does that then suggest that Athiesm causes wars in the same way that relgion is supposed to cause wars?

And for the bonus point, does anyone know what actually caused WW1 to happen?
