Congratulations to KG on a great career. Don't usually agree with him but nonetheless radio won't be the same without him and a more loyal passionate and proud South Australian you could not find... Who'll stick up for Lleyton and the Aussie Cricket team once he's gone???

Welcome to the "The BP & Cornesy Show" 8-[

Nice ring to it don't you think ???

In all seriousness though, well done KG on a great "Drive Time" career for the last 15 years, I've enjoyed "most" of your work over the last 10 years or so...

Yeah, BigPhil, you'd be excellent! You're not very one-eyed at all!!

Outstanding efforts to Cricket in SA. Radio & Television.

Would there be any true South Australian that didn't recognise this Great Man..?

Good innings KG =D>

I couldn't put it better myself Zippy.

I carve my work day around leaving work at 4pm, sticking the headphones on, and listening to KG and Cornesy...I also time my drive to the footy each Saturday around listening to the Saturday morning sports show. KG is a BIG part of why I do this.

Over the past few years, particularly when it comes to the SANFL, I've become quite frustrated with KG's lack of understanding of the current climate, the players, the clubs, etc. Cornesy seems to have a much better grip on the SANFL climate, so he and KG feed well off eachother, as KG knows a lot more about cricket, and umpiring etc.

You would not find a more popular South Australian sports identity amongst sporting identities...while he frustrates many of us listeners, KG has always had the admiration of the sporting world, and has continuously managed to lure some of the best sports stars to his weeknight program.

I'm quite disappointed with the way the station has handled this matter. You CAN understand the rationale behind the decision, but I'm stuffed if I'll be listening to the show if it's Cornesy and Chris McDermott. If David Wildy replaces KG, I think I'd listen as often as I do now...I could not help but think when KG and Cornesy were on holidays last time, and Bone and Wildy took over the weeknight show, many callers rang in abusing KG and Cornesy and endorsing Bone and Wildy to run the show full time...neither Bone nor Wildy hosed down the callers, which suggested to me that internally at 5AA, there was a real situation of undermining the great man...

KG, congratulations on what has been a marvellous career. You have fulfilled a job in sport that makes many of us green with envy. I'll miss listening to you.

Sometimes the person is too entrenched to understand that they might have dropped the ball like KG has the past few years....everyone talks about his dedication to the show etc etc but IMO he cannot discuss in depth any sport other than Footy or Cricket....to improve his longevity he should have at least developed a working knowledge of other mainstream sports....his interviews of Basketball, Netball, Tennis etc have beeb embarressing for years...all that was required was a little homework...

Anyway still have enjoyed listening to him, and thanks to them for putting my Uncle on the mystery voice a few years back....easiest prize Ive ever won 8)

I think KG gets a hard time unfairly. I know he has slipped a bit but it's impossible to know everything about every AFL and SANFL side's plus Soccer, Rugby and Tennis and deal with some of the people that call up on the show. All the best KG.

Unfairly? slipped? As a supposed professional he should have extensive knowledge of those sports you have mentioned but quite clearly didn't, he barely knew the names of his "beloved Westies" squad. Overall a ditinguished career in sport but past his use-by date a decade ago imo.

KG might be too diplomatic to speak out but doesn't mean Mrs KG can't

You can see the odds on the 'contenders' to replace him too.

I'd be alright with Wildy, but if McDermott or Rowe were given the gig my CD player would get a lot more use...

It's about time he got the Flick, about 20 years to late imo.
It's embarrassing listening to him at times.
Just hope that Cornes goes soon as well.

The guy drives me up the wall so I must say I will be glad to see him leave.

In having said that you have to admire what he has been able to acheive and sustain over such a long period of time in the media.

Hopefully they will stop taking call from people with iq's less than 50 from now on and if a conversation has gone on for an hour stop talking about and move on to a new topic. Nothing worse than sitting through 3 hours of calls about getting a new stadium. They need to control it better.
