I am not sure i agree with crushing the cars of hoon drivers. Why destroy a perfectly good vehicle because someone is an idiot? Why not sell the vehicles off in the auctions with ex government cars? It would have the same effect (hoons losing their cars) and at the same time not being completely wasteful.

Yeah good idea, only how do you stop another hoon buying it, the riced up cars tend to appeal mostly to hoons.

Have a look in today's paper, no need to crush that one, the idiot driving it did a good enough job. Just as long as it doesn't finish up at a wreckers and they cut the back off, weld it to another half a wreck and it finishes up in the hands of another speed freak.
Thats how it normally goes, isn't it?

Why don't people respect and obey the laws of our society?

So many people think the laws and rules are for everyone else and they have a God given right to do what ever they want.
Talking on a mobile phone whilst driving is a classic. If I don't see at least 10 people a day talking or texting while they are driving I will go hee for chasy.

Hoon Drivers lose their cars permanantley after a third offence, so why shouldent drink drivers also lose their vehicles after a third drink driving offence, its hard to argue that one offence is worse than the other, so why not treat them equally?

Who is more dangerous?

A person dui @0.12 doing 60 kms ph or

A sober person doing 130 kms ph

I don't know the answer but i would say they are equally as dangerous so why are they not treated the same as Soj said. Why can you lose your license for dui 7 times but if you are caught "hooning" then after the 3rd time you lose your car?

I reckon I heard somewhere that the driver of the WRX didn't have a licence so I think it's a losing battle unfortunately. He's killed himself and injured others, something his family must live with for the rest of their lives, is that fair on them? Maybe if they were aware he didn't have a licence, then perhaps it is.

If you are silly enough to not learn after the first time you're caught DUI, you deserve everything you get because you must be a total d*ckhead and shouldn't even be allowed to ride on a tram, let alone drive a car.

But unfortunately is happening people repeatedly get caught for dui but after a short loss of license they can drive again but if you do a burnout 3 times they take your car. I just dont get it.

I know this is a tad off topic, and I know people will whinge, but how come smoking is acceptable while driving if mobiles aren't? Both have the ability to cause a distraction how are cigarettes any different.

Takes at least 1 hand off the wheel to light it, normally one hand off the wheel to hold it at the window and, if it slips from hand into your lap, who has the pain threshold to wait till they have safely pulled over to pull it off their lap?

Just a thought.
