What is to respect? We have created an image driven (economically and socially) world for the younger generations to grow up in - these incidents are but one result of that.

Yeah good idea, only how do you stop another hoon buying it, the riced up cars tend to appeal mostly to hoons.

How about a legal off street drag strip like every other city in Australia?

Who is more dangerous?
A person dui @0.12 doing 60 kms ph or
A sober person doing 130 kms ph
I don't know the answer but i would say they are equally as dangerous so why are they not treated the same as Soj said. Why can you lose your license for dui 7 times but if you are caught "hooning" then after the 3rd time you lose your car?

If you are silly enough to not learn after the first time you're caught DUI, you deserve everything you get because you must be a total d*ckhead and shouldn't even be allowed to ride on a tram, let alone drive a car.

So many people think the laws and rules are for everyone else and they have a God given right to do what ever they want.
Talking on a mobile phone whilst driving is a classic. If I don't see at least 10 people a day talking or texting while they are driving I will go hee for chasy.
It is all about respect for the society.
