Loads of good advice, but you're right Chocman, just enjoy the day it goes so bloody quickly.

Too right it does.... was gone before I knew and then when the missus asked how I thought everything looked and I replied that I didn't really notice I nearly missed out on my 'first one'....

Question though, what do I do if beer and porn is already the fall back now ;)

As some of the others have BP it goes quickly so make sure you give yourself a few little breaks to take the day in because it was only 4 months ago for me and there are parts of the day that are just a blur already.

Enjoy it mate and good luck to you both for the rest of your lives together.

Why, what exactly does that entail me to?
If I pay money or spend some of my time doing something there has to be some sort of benefit to me.
Neither myself nor my partner are insecure enough to require a signed piece of paper to commit to each other. We're also not religious so the whole exercise seems completely pointless to us. Having kids is a much bigger committment.

Only 1 reason I could work out is an excuse for a pissup but who needs an excuse for one of those and stuff having one or my family would have to pay for!!! :D

also with the reception, how many people you are having there will affect how your day goes. if you can limit the amount of people then you will limit the amount of time you spend going around and saying hi to everyone and thanking them for being there... i spent all day cruising around and having three line conversations with people cos there were heaps there. made the reception even fuzzier...
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Only 65 guests, so should be enough time to get round to all guests and not have it detract from enjoying the rest of the night...

Being serious, i've been married for 11 years and I would say imo the key to a happy and healthy marriage is - mutual respect for each other. Let each other have their say and sometimes even when you know you're right, it's really not worth arguing the point just think agree to disagree. Also don't expect your life partner to like all the things you're into and the same goes the other way. Respect the fact that we are all different (even after commiting to marriage, i dont agree the two becomes one crap).. as long as you have your "together time" and all lines of communication are open you will have a great marriage and life together.. (I've been going to the SANFL by myself for over 20 years - my dh isnt that interested, but that's OK )good luck phil and congratulations to you and your intended. Have a great wedding day and honeymoon. All the best.
RIP my DH 1964 - 2009 - You were one of the best and I miss you

Best of luck, enjoy the day. Put disposable cameras on each table so you get lots of photos. You may even get some photos that are not of your mates kn0bs.

Sounds like my reception
Also if you have a backyard reception at your house, make sure none of your mates are passed out in your bed when you go to Seal The Deal
