Athelstone in the Torrens Gorge.

Pros:
Linear park (the best bit at the top), foothills, Kangaroo Creek in flood (once in a blue moon), 20 mins to the city, 30 mins to the Barossa, 30 mins to the beach, bike and walking tracks, 10 min walk to school for the kids, a Tour Down Under and car rally each year, OBahn, gully winds most nights

Cons:
Norwood territory, other side of town from the Bay Oval
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Pros:
Majority of the area has been rebuilt
Walking distance to work
A few nice parks close by
Close to golf course and tavern
Not far to the city or the coast
Close to an On the Run (but then again who isnt these days!!)
Public Transport is reasonable
Close to Arndale

Cons:
Close to Arndale  , Area still has a bit of a negative reputation, Close to Hanson Rd (but not as close as I used to live!!)
Trust the process.

Certainaly has Locky, I lived near the finsbury hotel for the previous 31 years of my life until 18 months ago when I crossed to this side of Hanson Rd, I have worked in the area for almost 10 years also, the Westwood Development has been great for the whole area coupled with all the work of those who dont get enough credit, usually just criticism for doing their job. As for Arndale I love it.....I go there almost everyday, it gets alot of crap and would be good if it had been fixed up but its full of interesting characters.
Trust the process.

Paralowie (Mawson Lakes North)

Pros: close to work, friends, family, 1 min walk to good private school, 3min walk to woolies, good par 3 golf course and driving range, free airshows when the hornets are out, no traffic lights within the suburb, little para river trials excellent for walking/cycling along, close to uni

Cons: pockets of rednecks, grafitti, burnouts, worst Maccas ever, Liquorland is always busy, too close to salisbury norf, people looking over your back fence just in case you have a marijuana plant, too many **** roundabouts, weeds, ants (Paralowie is actually an aboriginal word that means "place full of weeds and ants")

St Kilda

Pros...
Walking Distance to...
+Two great band venues (Prince of Wales and Espy)
+Some of the best cafes and restuarants in Melbourne
+The beach and St Kilda Pier
Choice of three trams to catch. Comfortable walking distance to bus which gets you across town in half the time tram does if you are seeing a band in Northcote or Collingwood etc.

Cons...
Every hot night and/or weekend the suburb is full of CUBS in their pink elwood t-shirts carrying on like **** wankers and treating the suburb as their own personal toilet and rubbish dump.
Rents and House prices are getting ludicrous as many of the aforementioned CUBS decide they want to live here permanently.
CUBS
CUBS
CUBS and CUBS.
weeds, ants (Paralowie is actually an aboriginal word that means "place full of weeds and ants")
Really? It is aboriginal, because the suffix "owie" is native for water. Booborowie, Terowie, Caltowie and Coobowie are other examples and all refer to water in some way.

From a book I've got, it says that it is native for "a round waterhole".

Nah, not really. Just my sarcasm aimed at ants and weeds. As for "owie" being for water the only watering holes of any description is the Little Para River and thats only got water after a heavy rain and even then only for a short period.
