The scud is very overrated, has the talent, but doesn't use it to the full like he used to. It all started just before he went out with Delta and continued since (except for little patch there around Wimbledon).

Don't shoot me down for this, but Geelong were overrated this year and failed to deliver this year.
Mark Webber (but it's not all his fault, he can't help it if the car has been crap).

but if he held out and didnt get it where would he go then????? V8 supercars back home perhaps. F1 is very political and Mark was smart to take up an offer when one came his way otherwise he might have been left out in the cold

2 US opens to Rafter, plus 2 runner ups at Wimbledon. I dont think Rafter was overrated, i dont think anyone ever rated him higher than Hewitt.

My opinion on who is overrated - Stephen Kernahan, Doug Walters.

I also think Dennis Lillee was also possibly overrated. He was a great fast bowler no doubt, but i dont think (personal opinion, which is probably sacrilgeous) hes the best fast bowler of all time, as is often suggested, but may well sit in the top 5 somewhere instead.

Obviously you haven't been on too many pool decks at 5:00 am in the morning for 2 hours, followed up by afternoon sessions for 2-3 hours five and a half days a week for 46 weeks of the year for 10 years to get a shot at Australian selection let alone a shot an international glory...

Same with the track athletes, especially the middle distance runners, Just think of the training Mottram has to do to run 1. 5 km in 3:30 you and I'd be flat out doing 750 m in 3:30

60 Australain swimmers, went to the C'wealth games, only 6-12 of them can make a living out of it the rest get Naff all apart from expenses being covered by the AIS and state based institutes of sport......

The work that Olympic athletes have to put in for the reward they get back, the vast majority not the elite 5% with the endorsements, they are grossly under rated.....

I may be a smart arse to you bringing up my past experiences but at least my past allows me to make posts with a modicum of judgement and reasoning, not unsubstantiated sweeping generalisations that make you look like a boorish Australian follower of sport who shows a passing in interest in our sporting history and achievements when it suits, but goes back to lounge chair and remote control with out the foggiest idea of what that person wearing the green and gold has gone through to earn the shot of qualifying for Australian Championships in swimming and athletics let alone making the team......

Swimmers and runners are rewarded in line with how much entertainment they give i.e. Bugger all.

in your opinion maybe...

truthfully, i dont care much for swimmers or runners unless its the O games but im aware of their dedication and knowing they will get no press or accolades similar to other sports/sports people so its hard to call them overrated.

again, its all opinion ofcourse

You might have a point but that hardly constitutes over-rated!

Out of the thousands of bowlers who have played, saying someone is in the top 5 rather than the best doesn't really point to them being thought of as better than they are!

Well given that commercial endorsements in sport depend on how well you are: rated by the public / exposed, that statement sort of flies in the face of your first unsubstantiated sweeping generalisation....

Angle was given some time off by the WWE under the wellness program, and after realising he needed an extended break - they released him with no strings attached. The idea was to give him time to get himself back into 100 percent shape.

But he didn't take that time and took advantage of the lack of no compete clause - and signed with TNA. Purely because he couldn't stand being out of the ring for period of time.

Plus the work rate in TNA is less then in WWE as I understand it. And he didn't want to be stuck in the NEW ECW.
