A 17km walk home is a good way to get the BAC out of your system though if he was hammered.

Drunk or not, footballer or not - still dumb in anyones language. I don't think anyone would argue with that.

Perhaps he has a really good jack at home and didn't want to use one of them stupid little windy things that take ages to lift your car.

Can't believe this was the number one news story last night. Pathetic. Yeah he stuffed up but so do a lot of people. Hardly the number one news story.

It would be even if it weren't a footballer.

Just my opinion but I think you'd find a hit and run leaving 4 x damaged cars would be no.1 news story in Adelaide, regardless of the offender. IMO.

I always thought "Hit & Run" was only referred to when there was a person hit.

I'm with BC, wouldn't have made the news if it was average Joe.

How many of these occur daily yet we've only ever heard two in recent times, Buddy and Impey.

I'm with MW. The $hitty news we are served up would always make this a No 1 hit.
I was watching the news last night thinking how pissant SA really is that a car prang is the No 1 story. I'm surprised there wasn't a "News Flash" during normal TV hours

Yeah, I thought the use of 'hit and run' in the media was a bit of an exaggeration. My understanding is that it refers to 'hitting' a person with a vehicle and then 'running/driving' away.

I'd rather that be our #1 news story as opposed to a school/hospital being bombed by mistake.

Hefty fine, suspended sentence, potential loss of license if he had any priors. That's all he's looking at from the cops. Hefty fine, month or so with the Magpies from the club

$5000, perhaps given to the MAC. Pretty sure the AFLPA has it set at $5000 maximum.

I'll got 6 weeks unavailable for AFL selection.

@daysofourlives might have more, unless his source has left the club.

I would say this is the chance for port Adelaide to have him attend a clinic or something to get help with his drinking .
That would be great PR for a club that wants members away from the old magpies era

I think that's a given, he'll need that to try and lessen his sentence regardless.

Crows haven't all been angels not defending them here .

2016 for port players and booze or pubs
Didn't a port player get bashed at a pub in Perth preseason 2016
And now a drink driving port player if he was drunk

Perhaps they all need to go to AA or something

Maybe you should have gone to AA and these posts would be less crazy.

Alcohol and drugs are pretty rife through many many comps not just teams. Tio of the iceberg.

Really? I always thought it had to involve a person.

Then again, my interpretation of 'hit and run' has been strongly influenced by the works of Alan Stringer.

Leaving the scene of an accident

If you are in a vehicle accident, the law says that you must stop immediately and:

-help people who might be injured
-exchange names and addresses with the other driver or property owner – for example, if you hit someone’s fence
-go to the local police station to tell them about the accident if no one is around.

You have to do these things even if the accident is not your fault.

It is an offence to leave the scene of a vehicle accident
If you leave the scene of an accident, the police can charge you with the following offences:

-fail to stop after an accident
-fail to render assistance
-failure to exchange names and addresses
f-ail to report an accident to a police station if no other person is present at the accident.
