A 10 and 12 year old in Sydney have tested positive, two schools have been shutdown and up to 100 students and teachers they had close contact with are being contacted for testing and quarantine purposes.

Careful, you might poke the bear.

I found this interview with Prof Spurrier about those Yanks that effed off.
Thought you might be interested

Hough: As a general comment Dr Spurrier, for us in the media you have been doing an excellent job, as has your team in providing information in a timely fashion. We thank you very much for that.

That leads to the next question from Robert which is about a story that was in the newspaper this morning about these American tourists. Tell us how the American tourists whilst in quarantine gave your network the slip, moved around SA, travelled interstate and then boarded a plane and flew home. It says ‘well done, I think not’.

Obviously we welcome our readers questions, but Dr Spurrier what’s your response to that?

Dr Spurrier: I can give you a little bit more information about that. That was very unfortunate and we felt very irresponsible.

Those people had come from the US and had travelled from the eastern states and then a couple of them began to feel unwell. They went and got tested, but before we even had the test results, so that was even before my team were aware, they had left South Australia.

I was told by one of my team members this morning that we alerted the New South Wales people that they had actually come to New South Wales, but they ended up boarding a flight and getting out.

Basically we didn’t have the results and they had already left South Australia.

I can’t understand what would go through peoples head to do that. It has obviously put more people at risk because of that behaviour. I would certainly hope that people in South Australia would not do that sort of thing, that we are much better than that and above that sort of behaviour.

I am really confident that South Australian’s wouldn’t have done it.

Stats don't lie.

1.7 Million population of South Australia

WU HU FLU cases in SA 440

Deaths in SA 4

I KNOW THE COME WILL BE IF IT WAS NOT FOR CLOSING ALL BORDERS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING THE DEATH TOLL WOULD OF BEEN HIGHER TOTALLY AGREE.

Well done to all for smashing the curve.

To date I personally do not know of one person that has caught the WU HU FLU.

How ever I do recall personally of heaps of workmates and friends back in 2018 caught Influenza A or B.

Sadly my workmates wife died from Influenza A and I attended the funeral.

So therefore by my calculation from the STATS the threat is no where near as what the model predicted for Australia.

Yeah we are SLOWLY opening up whilst the ECONOMY goes down south and many citizens health is being affected.

We cannot keep hiding under the bed.

440 people in SA with COVID. 1.7m people in SA. That means 1 in 3863 people in SA have had COVID.

Now, how many people do you know / deal with on a daily basis? 25, 30?

Most research shows around 150 relationships is the most any person can maintain, the most so it's doubtful you have contact / discussions with that many people. So working on that there is ( at best ) a 1 in 25 chance ( 3863 / 150 ) that you may know someone who has had COVID. More likely a 1 in 100 chance in reality, if not longer.

Then that person has to broadcast it, make it known that they have for you to know.

It's as dumb as dumb gets to think "I dOnT kNoW AnYboDy wHo hAs iT"

Woohoo, my pub is opening up next Monday, boss just messaged me asking who was keen for shifts. I'm champing at the bit!
If I get shifts from next week that was quite pain free, a couple of months off work, bought a few things and saved money!
Would have been much prettier with Job Keepers though!
Hate to think how much more I weigh though. :?

I reckon I've had 8-12 beers a day, haven't moved except for shopping and gardening and have eaten well.
Hate to think of what the scales might say (the battery ran out of ours a few months back and haven't bothered replacing them).
Better try on my work clothes before next week!
