The Royal is opening up the Front Bar too, so me and the missus are set! :D

No doubt he will be, with no TAB and not being able to sit at the bar I'll give it a miss for a while.

I wonder if they will still televise the racing even though you can't bet there? A lot of people just use their phones anyway.

Pub TABS in NSW are opening up next Monday and in the NT they're opening up June 5, we shouldn't be too far behind I'd imagine.

Most research shows around 150 relationships is the most any person can maintain, the most so it's doubtful you have contact / discussions with that many people. So working on that there is ( at best ) a 1 in 25 chance ( 3863 / 150 ) that you may know someone who has had COVID. More likely a 1 in 100 chance in reality, if not longer.

Then that person has to broadcast it, make it known that they have for you to know.

Great STATS Booney Boy.

Here is more food for thought for all the great deep thinkers on here.

Population of Australia approx. 25,500,000 right

WU HU FLU cases to date 7,131

That means 25,492,869 have not had a SNIFF of it yet.

Population of SA 1.700.000

Deaths thus far 4

One in 425,000 have died.

2 Deaths Ex Ruby Princess
1 Death as a result of Swiss tourists in Barossa passing it on.
1 Death as a result of attending a wedding in Victoria.

So where is the transmission coming from ?????????

At this current stage I have more chance of being hit by a bus.

I will probably accept its that bad in Australia after the 1st and 2nd wave hit I hope it never does.

I will finish off by once again reiterating.

95 T0 97 % cases have mild symtoms and fully recover

BC, you really don’t get it.

I’ve never commented about how Australia has reacted and handled the issue in my stats post.

If you go back through this thread, you’ll we see I commented that we need to adapt our behaviours and learn to live with the disease, if that’s what it’s called.

To close up shop in the early days (March) was the prudent thing to do. I agree with some of the other posters, in that, the greater majority of those who’ve had it, have recovered. This is a respitory condition, not a flesh eating disease!

We need to start opening things up, slowly and certainly and PROTECT the vulnerable. Thankfully that’s not you a me.

BC my issue with you was never about opinions on if our measures in Australia were wrong or right. My issue was your criticism that I didn’t list the entire hundred or so countries that are suffering worse than Australia so I could put them into some type of order. I simply didn’t have the time for such an exhaustive post. Call me bat shit crazy (pun intended) all you like.... your inference that I was making some kind of point by highlighting the worst affected countries is where my issue lies.

The post was about stats.... period.... take it or leave it.

I’d had a few tins last night and lashed out. I apologise for that.

I'm worried if we don't get some Aussie stats up here soon someone is going to murder someone, and given its covid related, the government will probably bump our number to 5 and keep us in lockdown longer, so, in the interests of getting sport back sooner...

Deaths per 1m of population:

Belgium 806
Spain 580
UK 546
Italy 545
France 437
Sweden 409
Netherlands 342
Ireland 327
USA 304
Canada 176
Brazil 116
Germany 101
Russia 27
Greece 17 (this seems very low)
Singapore
Australia 4
New Zealand 4

I for one found your post quite informative CM.

Q and Booney (and I think some others) have also put up some useful stats over the last couple of months. It's actually been a good, quick way to keep updated with the situation in SA, Australia and the world over the last couple of months, without even making the minimal effort of using Mr. Google, so thanks to all those folks.

OK I stand corrected.

Some of the scaremongering experts got it WRONG.

When they come up with statements like.

Between 50,000 to 150,000 people will die in Australia.

Like I said I have got more chance of being hit by a bus at this stage PFFTTTTT !!!!!!!!!

Also at 67 years of age I am more at risk than any one else on here and yes I go shopping people around like flies for the last 3 weeks so wheres the transmission I am s till waiting ???

Like I said before we live in an era of Snow flakes and bedwetters.

God forbid if ever a war broke they will all go and hide under their beds.
