Yep, at about $5 at most places it's pretty affordable as far as buying lunch goes. Delicious too!

:D Just had one from Hang Bakery at Torrensville, one of the best in the west.

Why bank cheques take 3 days to clear, apart from financial extortion?

on top of this, why does a electronic transfer take up to 2 or maybe 3 days, depending on time of the day and day of the week it has been completed?

anyone have figures, or an estimate, as to how much a bank makes/saves per year by doing this, instead of the money appearing instantly? in this day and age of technology, there is no reason why this can't be the case.

because at the end of the day, there still has to be a person transacting it at each end. People can only work so fast and banks won't fork out the dough to pay people 24hrs per day in Australia to do this.

How much money people give as a gift for a wedding? I was having this discussion with colleagues and it seems I work with some cheapskates that only give $50.

Depends how much you can afford I guess.

If you can only afford $50 then it's better than nothing.
