Not a bad venue to punt and the locals seem to love it. Hopefully this Covid shit will be fully gone when we go to Brighton and I’ll settle in for a cuple of sessions.

Shows how long I've been off Safooty. Welcome back son.

Alehouse any good these days?

Alehouse is crap for steaks, great for other things like seafood baskets and pizza.
Mawson Lakes superb for schnitties and kids meals.
The Angle Vale Tavern is great for value vs quality.
St Kilda is hit and miss, schnitties are good, seafood surprisingly not so good.
Birkenhead Tavern rates as my highest for all-round, just a tad out of your way but you'd make up the time when returning home.

Pity that they've shafted the front bar while upgrading the rest of the facility to emulate something in the CBD. Clearly Mr. Hurley believes the front bar isn't where his money is going to be made.

Heading to Nuriootpa for a couple of nights this weekend. Any recommendations for meals? 2 kids in tow.

Also any picks of Breweries/wineries? Rein? BVB? We liked Seppelts last time up that way but that was 12 years ago.

Wrote down a few places above and put em in a hat.
Ended up going to St. Kilda.
All had schnitzels and they were huge!!
Chicken breast (proper breast) was about an inch thick all round. Would have weighed around half a kilo, I was the only one that ate all mine.
Actually struggling to think if I've had a better snitzel.
Meals came out quickly, service was top shelf.
Over at other tables the meals looked awesome, steak, ribs etc. All huge serves.
Will be going back for sure, and telling everyone else to go there!

Good choice, the drinks are well priced too and the staff are good.

I haven't had a steak there, I was keen to try their seafood basket but was left disappointed, had half of a schnitty that must've seen 3 chickens slain to make it, very nice.

My local, The Seacliff, run by clueless morons (ALH)
They start doing the beer lines at 4pm this afternoon. Sixty minutes before happy hour starts, you can’t get a West End, Hahn Super Dry or a Coopers Pale Ale off the tap. Not to mention Coopers Pale Ale is beer of the month so it’s advertised all over the pub as being on special the whole time. Only you can’t get one from 4pm this arvo until tomorrow lunch time. They employ mindless wankers who have no people skills & can’t pour a beer & then management have that audacity to grill staff about beer wastage when they don’t train anyone how to correctly pour a beer & still refuse to bank kegs.
If this pub was two miles inland it would’ve gone broke years ago.

That's crazy, we do them on a Sunday night/Monday morning.

Not a lot of good publicans around any more or at least up here on Yorkes, all managers or workers. The Kadina hotel just sold to a big group and they also bought the Sunny Side in Broughton and all 3 pubs in Moonta and a pub in Minlaton and think Maitland. The kadina had a fantastic publican and they sponsored lots of local sporting clubs, hope this big set up continues to do the same for the community.
