Loin Chops butcher $24.99, SF $14.99

What's specially foods like in general?
Live 5 minutes away and never tried them.

Very hit and miss I find.
Sometimes very good and sometimes terrible

After getting meat home I’ve noticed the colour of it not being as ‘fresh’ as it should be. Tasted like that after cooking also.
Happened 2-3 times now.

Fair call.

I hadn’t experienced that but I’ll definitely look out for it

They're 5 minutes from work and I haven't been there since some time in 2022, no thanks, I'd rather pay for the quality and reliability of Baa Moo Oink.

Baa Moo Oinks OK (has a great range) but overrated and overpriced IMHO. We go there occasionally but are always disappointed.
They were a lot better years ago.
I get better and cheaper stuff from Mr Meats on Grange Rd.

PS I really should be getting the rundown on fruit and veg shops instead the way my weights ballooned since buying a Ziggy!

My local butcher and fruit and veg are just about done as can’t compete with the big boys.

Cant go into specifics but I know they do OK, plus how many do you actually see go out of business? The ones that are successful and hard working family oriented and build up a loyal following by relationship building, something Woolies and Coles cant do.

Brighton City Meats will be receiving my custom shortly. Brisket burgers and honey soy chicken sticks on the grill this evening.

Butcher at the Brickworks went out of business but stupidly he set up next to the entrance to Woolies.
Was never that good either.
I have no idea how Welland Meats are still in business too, the Hope Inns meat trays are from there and they're very ordinary.
There's heaps in the western suburbs but a couple I remember are no longer there.

I have the last 3 days at lunch! Do mushrooms and onions on top of my burger count? :D
This working from home bizzo is bad as I'd normally get a sushi roll if in the office!

Yes, I’ve only had good experiences and I find their specials are great value.

Crestline meats in Gawler are well worth the journey for their rib-eye, scotch fillet and drunken lamb specials.

Speaking of which, I jumped on Cosi’s $190 full lamb deal last week, can’t complain, it was $28kg, 4 leg roasts and the rest in chops, I had to drive to Woodside to collect though.

Bangkok Boulevard at TTP.

Wagyu beef red curry was divine.

I like my curries really hot, which this wasn’t, but it just melted in your mouth.

The Barn
Mt Gambier

Went there without a booking.
They sent us to the piano bar while organising a table.
We heard a group leave with a review that was just ok.
They retrieved us and took us to our table.
Service was top notch
The steaks
- rump 400g
- fillet Mignon 250g
-porterhouse 400g with peppercorn gravy (the gravy which was just fair)
All served with spuds with sour cream and coleslaw that was different but excellent
All these were 10/10

Desserts
Cinnamon doughnuts with ice cream and a chocolate sauce - was ok 6.5/10
Bailey's creme Brulee apparently 9/10
Eton Mess - traditional English dessert of mixed berries was a solid 8/10

A splendid fine dining experience with great friendly service
Overall around $265

Went there years ago when they were at Darlington, was great, been meaning to go again but never got there
