i should add that i didnt intend to imply that i consider my missus property (upon re reading my post it could be interpreted that way), she most certainly isnt, and i have never considered her that way. however my point about respect for others and their property still stands

Not really, in a former life I worked for a wholesaler who sold the components to blind/awning manufacturers.

In winter it's the solid PVC blinds to keep out the cold, in summer the mesh to keep out the sun. All the components/gear boxes/hoods etc are the same, typically.
