Cheers for the replies, everyone - yeah, I wanted the refund cos I didn't feel like eating fish after that. The supermarket people did establish that it was rotten - I brought the fish back in and they opened it up on the counter and their general consensus was 'Whoa', and then the line of customers behind me started objecting to the smell. Anyway, they didn't offer me a refund but they did say they'd replace the fish, so I thought fair enough, but when they came back with a SMALLER bit of fish and didn't refund me the balance I was annoyed.

See, when I worked at Woolies we pretty much lay down as a carpet for the customers to walk on us with their dung-caked boots. If someone said a piece of fish was rotten, it was rotten. They didn't have to bring it in. They could've eaten it themselves for all we knew. But as long as they brought in the receipt, they could get a new damn piece of fish AND be refunded the full amount of the original. That was what was in my mind when I wrote the letter to my Foodland. I didn't end up sending it though, because I'm not a c**t and I realised that regardless of how many arsehole customers got away with murder when I was a lowly checkout chick, I didn't have to join their ranks. :D I sucked it up and ate my damn fish.

When a white Christian kills innocent civilians for political purposes, why don't we call it terrorism?

In conclusion, all white Christians must be terrorists. That's how this works, right?

Also, I heard from someone that Gluten-free certified foods are funding Christian terrorists.

i reckon there would be a definition that draws the line between terrorism and mass murder

(and I'm purely giving hypothetical examples only)

Ie; The amount of people effected by the action.

ie; Boston Marathon or 9/11 - terrorism (IMO), open space designed to kill as many people as possible / religious MO.

ie: Kid in the church - mass murder/hate crime, not politically motivated (yes ok, racial but obviously not religious) - but in a controlled setting with intended targets

ie: Martyn Bryant - mass murder, but intention to kill as many people as he could in an open setting . Not terrorism as not politically or religiously motivated, just a fruit loop.

Would be interesting to see just how each is legally determined.

If it was an Arab with a gun, we all know what the headlines would read.

There's a difference between what media outlets call it and what it's actually called I'm sure.

again, it's all about modus operandi.

The Boston bombers weren't Arab or middle eastern and they're branded as terrorists so your argument is a tad flawed.

Institutionally, they get it right. For instance, in the case of Man Monis, it was not deemed an act of terrorism.

I was more referring to mainstream media and popular opinion. By the time authorities release their conclusions, the public has already been manipulated and the findings are irrelevant.

Whatever the case, call it what you want, 9 innocent people are dead because some redneck ******* hillbilly claimed the second amendment and shot people with a weapon he could legally have in a country full of halfwits.

I don't see your point but keep making it anyway.

Because many in that country full of halfwits want to recognise the severity and intent of the act, so that it is taken as seriously as other terrorist acts and therefore demands preventative attention. That's the point.

Preventative attention, banning guns or arming people with bigger guns to shoot the people with the little guns?

There's clearly a movement toward tighter gun control in the US, however, the gun lobby has its tentacles in both the media and politics.

I see your point now.

Tell the idiots a shooting of 9 people is terrorism and they'll want the bloke treated as a terrorist.

Then, in turn, when the half of the brain they use switches on they might realise that guns kill people. Well, people kill people, guns on their own are inanimate objects.
