They thought the virus had changed I guess and they thought the virus had been transferred on the pizza box rather than airborne

They thought he just bought a pizza from there (there is another pizza bar worker that had COVID. So they thought if a customer could have got it, then any customer over that period might have got it and then their close contacts etc etc.

Instead he worked there as well, so it was transmitted as a close contact and there is no reason to think that any customers would have got COVID.
