Am staggered by the big fuss this has created, Page 4 or something of the Sunday Mail yesterday

I have a feeling he might not have been the only person in the state sacked last week, but as usual, big news in SA

It would be big news in any state that had an absolute legend of their local radio get the sack.

Like him or not, the guy is a legend of Australian radio and an icon of South Australia.

Big news - like Page 4 news?? Surely there are bigger events in the state/country/world??

I agree that he's an SA Icon, but let's face it, he's still in the normal time slot for a while to come and will still be calling AFL footy and hosting the Sat morning Sports Show, it's not like he's been completely removed from the airwaves.

Would have thought there was a lot more to worry about, but thats just my opinion.

...and the caption that he put with it...

(Blakey's comment)
The posters on the door of KG and Cornesy's office. I think KG should dress
like that all the time he looks so cool!

If Bone or Ditmar get the gig with Cornesy, I'll probably take up a new hobby. I hope Wildy or Rowe get the job...

I might listen this week, there is a good chance I might hear someone from Carlton get a 5min interview.

I know what you mean...as an SA-based Richmond supporter, I often wish I could hear more about Richmond, but the only time I do, is when the Crows or Power are coming up against them the approaching weekend...

It's an SA based radio station not a national radio station so it's bound to concentrate on the Crows and Power. You could try looking for Melbourne based stations that give stream similar shows favouring your clubs.

I'm hoping that whoever gets the gig can boost the profile of the SANFL a bit more...I can but dream

Correct JAS but they then get Robert Walls and Rex Hunt on the show to get AFL comment and persist to ask them about how they think the Power and Crows will go/gone

5AA Sacked the Wrong Bloke

Postby MagareyLegend » Tue Jul 29, 2008 1:50 am

5AA should have traded Cornes and retained KG. Who agrees?

I think they worked quite well as a team - I can't imagine anyone else working well (or wanting to) with Cornsey
