The house has been years in the making and finally able to get it done! It is difficult to save on one fulltime wage (well below the average by the way) and Mrs NG working 1-2days/wk but we have found a way. Signing the initial contract this week hopefully...

Does anyone know what happens if a kid goes to board a bus to go to school and has forgotten his metrocard and doesn't quite have enough money for a ticket?
Do they still allow them to board?

I had a potential disaster this morning and our office all have differing thoughts on the ruling given the Daniel Morcombe tragedy and the girl with the bicylce recently.

If he's in uniform, heading to school at school start time and the bus driver is a decent person I foresee no issues. However, if the bus driver is a flog then he's probably walking.

Apparently there's a rule stating that they can't refuse a child under 16, my son is 11 and was shitting himself and was trying to work out a way without disrupting anyone.

After I was able to sneak off from work, I managed to overtake the bus 500 metres from thew bus stop to give him some money to board the bus but then the bus connected another bus leaving the next catastrophe as in all the panic he left his phone on the first bus.

100% has to allow the child on board, I think it is called Morecombs Law named after Daniel Morecomb after he was murdered after a driver wouldn't pick him up because he had no bus money

Thank you, I have done some further investigating and found this to be around the mark, the child needs to approach the driver in a respectable manner and explain the situation, if they get on with attitude and lip the driver can refuse.

The missus and I are trying to find a documentary on the Daniel tragedy to show our kids how important it is to "check in" with us at regular intervals. They just don't understand the importance and the panic it sends.

Why were people lining up to get into the Clipsal at 6:30 this morning? Not like you have to rush to a seat

Some people get in and stake their claim for turf up against the fence / wall. They'll lob their chairs, picnic blankets etc in their favorite spot and claim it for the weekend ahead.

Most of these blokes had nothing but one bag but I take your point. I'm not a fan so I thought it was odd
