Agree with Failo....Solid in all areas. Sizzling steak is sensational and quite the spectacle upon presentation.

Tried out our new sponsor for Season 2015 The Kensington Hotel. They are doing a club special meals and a pint of SuperDry for $15. Took the pregnant wife and my underage nephew so ended up having a Parmi and 3 pints. Service was friendly and meals came out in good time under the circumstances of the volume of meals they had to make. We all went for some kind of schnitzel + sauce variation and they were good cuts. Also had a good look at the burger, fish and a couple of other specials and didn't hear a bad word.
8.5/10

Back to the Grand North tonight as Mrs Wrist worked 8 hours both days this weekend and I thought she wasn't in the right head space to cook my dinner correctly ;) also I had seen enough of Port today in the first half to know I'd rather sit with my wife and talk about her thoughts, feelings and work days. We both had the beer battered fish and chips which comes with salad and veg bar. 2 for 1 ent book voucher meant the whole night cost me $12  After dinner we took a romantic stroll on the reserve and listened to the sound track of the blood curdling screams of the Yatala inmates. Dinner and a show for $6 each and the rolls were fresh. Taking into account the value for money this a strong 8/10.

Anyone been there??

good, bad or indifferent?

3 course meal with voucher came to $125

Not the best design and seated on the middle of 3 levels
waiting staff always charging past.
was quite noisy also

Food I would give a 7.75/10

On menu had that on a Saturday all food orders a min of $30

Most mains are $30.....

Imho The Caledonian is far better.

Did the Entertainment Book voucher at the Scenic Hotel Norton Summitt.

Left more than slightly underwhelmed.

Service was so-so

The meals were good but for the advertised price you'd expect more, I had steak, the Missus had he chicken. However the kids did enjoy their crumbed prawns and chips but they should have given it was priced at kroe than the averge kids meal.

Didn't go in there but the missus and the daughter came back from the ladies toilets complaining of unhygenic floors and two of the three bogs were "expired" even though no-one was in them i.e they were broke.

Took four goes to choose someting of the reds list.

Whole exprience was brought down furher by Cornish Mistrels/dancers with bells on their legs walking past our table every five minutes, No kids it's too early for bloody Rudolph and his mates.

Deserts were Good.

Overall the food is good but not spectacular for basically good pub fare, given the slightly raised prices over your normal hotel restaurant

Total Bill was $177 that came down to $142 with the Entertainment Voucher.

Won't be hurrying back, 3/10.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Venue: Hallett Cove Tavern

Night: Friday

Dish: beef shnitzel

330gms of deep fried goodness, served with chips and pepper gravy, salad and veg bar. We had two for one with the entertainment app and a free round of drinks on from the manager. So ended up being $18.90 for a dinner and a coke.

It wasn't the best pepper gravy, I prefer the one that is slightly creamy, other than that great value.

Clientele demographic wasn't too bad, the place does get its fair share of bogans/fire arm hold ups. The place needs a beer garden, unless your interested in TAB's and pokies there's no reason to hang around after the feed.

Bay Bar and Bistro again yesterday.

Paid for by work which really helps and pre ordered so it was served 3 minutes after sitting down.

8 of us had a variety of steaks, Hawaiian and Parmi schnitzels, chicken wrap, salt and pepper squid and the boss and I both had the seafood platter. All plates were left empty and no complaints at all. Hard to complain when someone else picks up the tab admittedly.

Platter was awesome as it featured pawns, salt and pepper squid, some other prawns item, fish, chips and salad. All cooked well and retaining their authentic seafood flavour.

9/10, probably gets a half to full bonus point for the fact it cost nothing.

I eat there once a week and they are probably going about 48/50 for meals 7.5/10 or above. It's also clean, spacious and the service is friendly with a few stunners floating around. They have daily specials and they must take some of the blame for me being a fat bloke. If your ever down that way it's worth a visit and I may be wrong but I reckon there is a 25% voucher in the ent book.

Checked out the renovated Woodville Hotel yesterday - New beer garden is excellent!

Ordered an Angus Burger, which was accompanied by Chips and Onion Rings, all of which was awesome. Mate had some of the tastiest S&P squid Ive ever had, missus had some Fig and Haloumi Salad thing, kids had Pizza, and everyone raved about how good their food was. Really well priced, great atmosphere, top kids deals (kids eat free too between 5.30-6.30 each night).

They have some excellent drink specials too.

8/10

Thoroughly recommend!!
