3-4 = A few

2 = A Couple

4-5 = A handful

12 = A dozen

Depends, if im telling the missus im going to the pub for a few, it could be between 3 and 20, and if im going to be back soon it could be between an hour and 3 days!

Well it doesn't make sense, I was always taught at school that a couple was 2 and a few was 5... and a handful??? never heard of that? Thats crap, I must be about a 7 then

Yes, that time , the other time you just picked on me...

Few is completely relative.
For eg I've had a few beers in my time, and I can tell you that its more than 3, 4 or 5!

my thoughts as well. Exempt is when you tell miss's that you are going down the road for a few quiet ones with the lads. (really means don't wait up for me and get the sofa ready!)

a few is relative to the topic-
i've had a few drinks= 5+
i've had a few "wellington boots"= 15+
i've played a few games of footy= 100+
and so on...

in general, its gotta be 3

A few is five because a couple is always 2-3 ask a trady on how many screws he wants and it always is a couple and he means 3. FC there are 3 types of people in this world those who can count and those who can't.

Couple-2
Few-3 ( NO ARGUMENT!)
Handful-5 (Handful of fingers,dont get technical with the whole thumb thing!)
