good to see wedgie using this terrible term for Minda's and other people with disabilities

Never heard of it...I thought Wedgie was being the pied piper as some poster has referred him too...

My apologies, I didn't realise it was a term for people with intellectual disabilities.
I sincerely apologise and can only claim ignorance, Im getting rid of my sig and avatar now.

Wedgie down the south West and in places of Victoria they have been using it for years I only knew of the term Nuf Nuf after living down that way and the word has spread.

Fair enough mate, it started as a joke on the Roost when a fellow Site Admin there bestowed it upon me so I added it here as it was a bit of a private joke, I thought it was more a term for morons and would never have added it if I was aware of the defintion you've made me aware of, I feel embarassed.
Apologies again, lesson learnt.

I always thought Minda was a place, not a person.

It has been used as a derisive term for people with intellectual handicap for many years in Adelaide, derived from the purpose of the place in supporting those people...

Also, I'd normally delete a topic like this especially after its been acted upon but I felt I needed to leave it just in case there were people out there that took offence from my previous sig so they are aware of my regret.
I don't think we need to elaborate or discuss other terms for people with intellectual disabilites and would appreciate it if people just let this thread find its way down the page.
