Can't say I miss the avatars but I certainly never found them offensive. It was more a case of 'oh look another one' Lets be honest you see more in some tabloid newspapers.
I'm sure if you ask blacky very very nicely he might consider letting you have a copy all to yourself and your box of tissues

In saying that I understand why it has been done given the women and children that get on this site + the sponsors - it could possibly send a bad message to people who want to sponsor the site...
