Was in a public urinal (at a restaurant) last weekend, one of my sons asked me the question and i did not know.


Was going to take a photo then realised I could get arrested.


You know how some urinals in pubs/clubs etc have a metal grill that overhangs the urinal ( like a cattle grid).


A quick survey since then has shown the answers are split.

I have always thought they were there to stand on - much better than standing in a puddle of pee.

The toughest job with smac jr is teaching him to aim correctly. He aims to high and creates too much splashback - not someone you want to stand next to at the urinal.

Is this conversation really only about urinals, or are you fascinated with three-skins too?

Of course you're supposed to, when I see someone standing back from it I wonder if they're loopy or not.
Why else would it be there? To stop people stealing the lollies?

Exactly right buddy. I thought it was there so the last little bit of weak as piss piss that just drips out could go in the trough while still maintaining enough distance to avoid splashback.

Depends. If i'm wearing thongs i'll stand as far back as possible. You never realise how much you p1ss on your feet till you wear thongs
