Got a scam call this morning from "John" (sounded more like a Sunil) from the Commonwealth Bank wanting to verify that I transferred $800 overseas with my Easy Access Account.
"Yes I did" I replied
"Ummmm........beep beep beep beep"

Crikey, another scam call today telling me my Telstra internet (I don't have Telstra) needs to be changed from Public to Private. I told him I'd much prefer it to remain public and he hung up on me.
Sounded like there was about 1000 people in the same room as him (possibly in India or a neighbouring country).

They're getting worse but at least they provide me with some amusement.

Quite a few years ago I took a call from a friendly Microsoft rep who kindly advised me that I had a serious issue with Windows which they were going to rectify for me.

I played along for at least 1/2 hour, getting them more and more excited, and was handed over to another rep, ‘expert technical support’. I faithfully wrote down the 16 character windows keys they gave me and played along for a few more minutes before I had enough.

I then politely advised them that I was a Mac user with no hint of MS Windows anywhere in the house, then confided that I knew all along it was all a scam. I then asked why they would even be involved in such behaviour and to my astonishment, they agreed it was a scam and apologised.

It’s insidious but unfortunately there’s enough suckers around to make it profitable for them, despite how ridiculous and obvious the scam is. People get confused under pressure and do stupid things which hands easy money over to these vermin.

Was a running joke as a teenager with my brother and cousins after mum found my limited edition Playboy mag featuring Dana Plato while I was standing right there as she stripped my bed for the washing, they all chucked the underwear sections of catalogues under my pillow and mattress for a while after that.

I was more of a VCR kid, that was until I was watching a stick movie when mum and dad pulled up the driveway, I hit the stop button but the tape broke and just kept making a weird spinning sound, the VCR wouldn't turn off so I had to dive behind the entertainment unit to pull the VCR plug out just as they walked in...................we never found the mouse that I was looking for.
