SARS has nothing on this from what I've seen/heard, 60 minutes was interesting viewing on Sunday night, a bit of an eye-opener, experts are suggesting the disease originated from someone eating a pangolin.

The missus has shared the same views as me up until today, now she's hitting the panic button and thinks we're looking at all getting a 2 week lock-down.

It's all a load of absolute wank. I'm happy to have a 2 week lock down at home binging on Pornhub.

We've had a trade show / conference planned for May in Melbourne cancelled. As an organisation we'd spent considerable money on the stand, flights, accommodation and conference facilities.

We've had parties in our supply chain email us to tell us they're experiencing delays with goods inwards and no sign of change anytime soon.

We've, as an organisation, implemented some control measures for drivers coming in and out of our premises.

If you don't want to take it seriously that's up to you, but if there's ever been a case of being proactive as opposed to reactive then this is it.

I'd never heard of them, I thought it was an armadillo when they showed footage of it.

It was absolutely sickening seeing what these freaks were buying to cook up.

F****** oath, the missus gave me shit about pressing the button at the pedestrian crossing the other day, she said "You'll end up getting quarantined for a fortnight"

Yeah as an organisation working in the fitness industry we have taken this seriously. We have increased our contract cleaning, increased the regularity in which we test our pools. Put plans in place regarding financial arrangements with members in the event we are forced to shut down like other countries have done.

The irony is as a gym we may be forced to close due to threat of a virus that is affecting less than 0.1% of the population. The reason we exist is to provide people with greater health and currently live in a society that is going through an obesity and heart disease epidemic which affect millions more a year, never mind the millions that are looking for injury rehab etc.

Proactive? As in stocking up on shit paper and carrying on like a pork chop because 9 people in SA have it? No thanks. I shouldn't say that, there might be 10 people that have it by the end of the week

If the media cockheads didn't make this a headline story every minute of the day, we wouldn't even be talking about it. It sucks people in and brings in huge ratings and that's all it is.

Slightly disagree when their actions mean that everyday people are having to miss out. Same as those stock piling baby formula.

This has just proven as a society we are ****** if there was a genuine case of the planet being under threat. Anarchy would be guarenteed.

We're not stockpiling anything, we're not sending baby formula to China. All we've done is ask our staff to be more vigilant with infection control measures here and at home and have asked people visiting our site to sanitise their hands prior to entering the building.

The World Health Organisation has listed their 4 key points, just this morning as :

1- Prepare and be ready.

2 - Detect, protect and treat.

3 - Reduce transmission.

4- Innovate and learn

That means currently 0.001% of the worlds population have caught coronvirus as it currently stands. Yet countries are sending themselves into recession and endangering our children's futures because of this.'

Chances of dying currently stand at 0.00005%

This is based of an estimated global population figure of 7.7 billion.

Correct.

If in the next two weeks this increase of 13-fold continues how many will it be then? Extrapolate that out for another two weeks?

1.5 million > 20 million etc....

Absolutely its very much a morale dilemma as to how much we are willing to 'allow' at the expense of future generations. I read every week that Italy is shutdown will essentially keep them in a recession for an added 5 years.

The unpopular line is that we live in a significantly over populated planet and if its not Coronavirus its what comes next. Every human cant possible live to 110 years old.
