Parabanks shopping centre

Have recently arrived back in Adelaide and now have the pleasure of working at Parabanks Shopping centre (in Salisbury for those who have been lucky enough to avoid it)
I grew up in the area and frequented the shopping centre a lot as a young lad and never found it to be much of a problem. The problem was further up Main North Road at Elizabeth City Centre. This was where all the dero's, bogan's and dropkicks were. Now to come back after a few years the situation has changed. Elizabeth has had a big renovation and looks great, but Parabanks still has many of the same shops and has had no work done in this time. I dont know if this has helped but so many of shoppers that come into Parabanks now could only be described as feral bogans, while Elizabeth has seemed to be able to attract a more family/average person customer base (with the random Daveron Park bogan). After a month there now there are shoppers who come in that you would normally be surprised/disgusted by, but now you dont even look at twice.
Parabanks Shopping Centre what a paradise!!!!

lol, anything with the name Para in it and bogans? NOOOO!!!
In all seriousness I don't have a big problem the once every two years I visit Elizabeth City Centre. Much prefer it to anything at Smithfield or even Kilkenny for that matter.
My fav shopping centre is West Lakes by a mile though.
Hate Marion as its usually crowded, hate crowds.

More car break ins there than Elizabeth, and yes, Arndale's worse.

Yeah but Elizabeth doesn't have 11 Port Power games every year. Poor buggers have to get home some how!

Arndale is the worst one I have seen in Adelaide. But you should see some of the specimens in the Ipswich Mall LOL.

Give it 12 months, huge renovations starting there soon, now once finished all we have to do is keep the ferals out if that is at all possible

Especially since the reno's...very well laid out, easy parking, and reasonable people...
Arndale is a sh*thole, but that will change in years ahead as they redevelop the Parks
area...
Marion used to be great 15 years ago (like West Lakes now). Only go there rarely.
Never been to Elizabeth/Colonnades nor Parabanks so can't comment...

I had the pleasure of working at Parabanks Bakers Delight for 6 months, u should see some of the ferals that walk past at 7am when the doors first open. Askin for leftover bread. Sheeeez!
Elizabeth is really good these days, as well as Munno Para. U get ferals everywhere these days. Worst by far for me is Port Canal Mall!!

followed by the ol Elizabeth West Shops!

I stopped there a few months ago to get a cheesymite scroll. While I'm being served, a feral looking kid walks up and asks the serving wench "have you got any free samples out yet?" She shook her head and the kid walked away muttering. I asked her if that happened often, and she said "every day".

At least he asked, rather then the "free samples" that happen at many of the other stores within the shopping centre.

Oh c'mon LE, the Port Canal has alot of character

Actually, i wouldnt class it as a shopping centre, it has f@#$ all shops really. Its more of a cultural centre

I agre with most here, West Lakes is best by miles. best K-Mart setup- easy to find things, best cinema- comfy seats.
Marion was good but too packed and too many people trying to bother you selling foxtel, Amex or Glenelg footy club raffle tickets (last year gave me the sh!ts). Mind you its only a couple minute walk up the road for me so that gets my patronage. I would never attempt to drive there on a Saturday or Thursnite (traffic already lined up past my house anyway).

How can anyone one in their right mind think that visiting
ANY Shopping Centre is a pleasure?
On Saturday I had the unfortunate experience of going to both Westfield Marion & Tea Tree Plaza...
& mate, fair dinkum, my blood pressure would've gone up in leaps & bounds eh!
