Hooray package$$$$!!!
Tonight upper management still at work until very very late, obviously working out how to make announcement to the pack.
The feeling I get from other workers is just get closures happening and lets move on to hopefully better pastures. Manufacturing in Australia is almost dead anyway and with the mining and ship building industry looking good should keep SA's employment ratio ok.

It's not making money and costing tax payers big bucks. Fear not the Victorian Government will "steal" it.

It is a massive blow to the entire community.
Posibly more than 2000 pay packets here.
2000 families cutting back on their groceries at their local.
It snowballs.
Right down to all the kids pocket money's being cut....?
Revenue from PAYE taxes
Mortgages and bills still need paying.
Good Luck Guys.

Can we please have the Misti management team at our northern suburbs Japanese multinational automotive component manufacturing concern. Our management are incompetent imbeciles but not quite useless enough it seems. I know that if packages were offered where I "work" they(mamangement) would be crushed in the rush!
Over 70 people have passed 20yrs service in the last 2 yrs alone.
Having said that my sympathies to the Mitsi workers with mortgages, kids etc. The bills don't stop coming.

Its devastating news for the workers but as Dutchy says if it was going to happen then this is as good a time as any to find another job especially for those workers with trade qualifications or skills. There are shortages everywhere. I think SA is currently having its worst shortage of tradies ever.
Use some your redundancy money on a trade course it could be the best investment you ever make!
I hear stories of cleaners earning $70K per year in country WA at the moment (if you are prepared to move over there

).
Plus in SA the mining industry looks set to happen in a big way in the next 2-3 years so I hear.

I don't think mitsubishi are to blame here.
They have done everything right here.
(a) Took over from Chrysler and employed all for more than a decade.
(b) Do you own a 360...?
If they can't sell the product, they realy can't stay in bussiness...?
Well Done Mitsubishi.....
Why didn't the State Government buy more fleet 360's.
It isn't rocket science....
