SA cuisine for JAS to try

OK started this cos I know what's going to happen. The Iced Coffee thread will go way off topic and I'll have to live a lifetime of guilt. The trip won't be for ages yet but I'm a compulsive list maker so lets have your suggestions, seriously I have started lists for this . I don't have any dietry limitations but might be a bit fussy about somethings (see Pie for example  ) and wherever I travel I always try to eat the local food...absolutley NO Mac's or KFC etc

So far I have:

Lamingtons
Kangaroo and Emu
Pie (sorry no floater...if I'm right about it I can't stand peas done as mushy/gravy/soup/sauce etc)
Farmers Union Iced Coffee
Haigh's chocolates
Fritz
Pt Lincoln lobster, KI marron and yabbies
Woodies lemonade and Bickford's lime cordial
Alaska bars, Yo-Yo's
SA wine (would try a few from different parts of SA)
Coopers (tried Pale Ale want to try some others)
Boost Juice
Amgoorie tea (more of a tea drinker than coffee)
Tanunda metwurst (like the salami/sausage* thing)
Fruchocs (by Menz) (:-k how did that get there)
Golden North ice cream amongst others
Fish (various)
Maggie Beer pate and pheasant pie
Cheese (local, Aussie and various)
Beerenberg jam and conserve
Kitchener Buns (had similar here in the Mess but things always better in country of origin)
Double-cut rolls (sounds perfect for lunch on the run when sightseeing)
Donuts with choc/vanilla ice cream a la FC
Yiros
Chicken Parmigiana

Knock yourselves out kids

Regards
JAS

processed meat, also known around Australia as Devon or Polony.
You dont actually want more detail on the actual "meat"

Was just having a droole at the Haigh's web site.... :D

I usually drink red wine but I'll happily have white too especially if it goes better with the food.

Mentioning lobster has reminded me that someone once told me I should try yabbies too...they are like crayfish...right???

Can't see a prob with the coco pops idea...I put banana milk shake and sliced banana on cornflakes (don't like the taste of plain milk  )

I'll look the other things up haha

Are you serious? you are soooooo un- south australian

PS: Yoyo's are biscuits btw, which are only good for either eating with butter on the back of them, or dunking in your coffee (thats hot coffee, not iced coffee  )

Now play nice you two

Don't forget dishes I could order in a cafe/restaurant as well. Doesn't have to have been invented in Aus just things that are Aussie favourites. Like I said no fast food and hopefully not stuff created purely for tourists

The Lime version too...decadent....get it from All good Ice Creamery's !!

I'd give SA Whiting & tuna fillets a go,
If you eat Kangaroo complete the coat of arms and have Emu too..
Maggie Beer pate, Kangaroo Island Marron...mmm Cheese from the
the Adelaide Hills. Berenberg conserves/jams, get some Lime cordial from Bickfords into you too...

A nice deep Shiraz from the Coonawarra or a great Pinot from the Hills...

Man I'm Hungry now !!
