Does he have one of those clocks with a theme? You know, a club logo for example.

Right..I have a mate who's turning 40 this weekend, same problem but here goes

He's receiving the 1968 Grand Final Budget (Sturt man) @ $25, and a 1968 Weg Premiership poster (Carlton man too  ) @ $30
plus a Liverpool shirt T.B.A. That covers his three main teams !!

Could try along those lines if he's a footy freak...

Probably a bit short on time but what about a couple of you clubbing together and buying an experience day...assume you have them over there...like an afternoon rally driving or tank driving or a day at a spa

Ok another idea that might be a bit different. I often put together pamper hampers as gifts for my mates...you could perhaps do a blokes one...put together a load of things you know are his favourites such as a dvd/book (or both), bottle of fav drink, some of his fav snacks...that kind of thing. But it means a bit more if it's obvious that you made the effort to choose everything yourself.

Jas - isn't an experience day is something you have when you walk through a door with a red light above it

I'm a believer in giving something with longevity for milestone occasions. Without knowing anything about his interests, I reckon those easy wine bottle openers are a cracker of a present and once you have used one, you never want to see a manual corkscrew again!

May be out of budget but what about those HUGE whiskey bottles they sell with some outrageous amount in it!

Go to that Fellas place, I think there's one at TTP, in town and at West Lakes.

If you can't find something there...

I went to Giffo's 40th a couple of years ago, managed to find him a Centrals members badge for the year he was born (1966), only small but he loved it.

I bet he did, as it must be the only one made for that year
