Channel 9 have had an appauling time in the ratings on Friday nights in the southern states for some time. I believe that the NRL should be put on live, instead of being played at 12 in the morning. What are your thoughts?

Yes, should give it a go, only get to see the games when I am working night shift. Surely ratings would be better than the same movies every couple of weeks up against the AFL.

I would leave me looking around for something else to watch. I may [just] consider watching Union.
NRL would probably get the nod over Soccer though, if that were the choice.

Id defnately watch it, at the very least they should allow Foxtel to show Friday night games if they chooe not to in that state like the AFL does with C7/Fox.

they'll tell you it doesn't rate, i reckon with the right promotion it may very well rate & if they are losing (as suggested) the ratings why not take the punt & show it, i'm sure kerry would have

Totally agree, they can hardly do any worse!

The main reason that I got Foxtel was so I could watch EPL, considering that EPL is getting a lot more popular in Australia, you would think that one of the three commercial stations would be getting into telecasting it, the matches might be late at night, yet in this day and age plenty of people clearly stay up to watch it on Fox! If they can show the Grand Prix's why not the EPL?

NRL would do ok in Adelaide, but I do think EPL would do better!

I wouldn't watch it. I have a hard time balancing ABC Crime night and Fri nite footy as it is and NRL does nothing for me personally.

Is it not something to do with licencing sojourner. EPL is available in the UK only on Sky and Setanta who pay 100's of millions of $$$$ for the privaledge. BBC get to show highlights only, partly because they have stumped up some bucks but also because the govt felt EPL is our national sport and at least a titbit should be on free to air.

What is EPL? - oh its just dawned on me as I was typing - is it English Premier League?
I'd watch NRL over Soccer even though I played the latter for a short time in my early teens.
Like Hockey, it's a better game to play than to watch.
