2008 Quorn Cup
Star of Suresh has won the 127th Quorn Cup run on Saturday in cool but fine conditions.
Beating home Greg and I cant remember by a short half head while Odysseus (top weight) and favourite ran an unimpressive 7th.

With plenty of rain falling in the area on Thursday and Friday morning the track was in heavy but good condition and with a stiff breeze blowing all day Friday the track dried nicely to allow the meeting to proceed.

With the local licensed venues far from full on Friday night it appeared as though last years record crowd of over 1200 was never going to be threatened,but as the Land Cruisers,Hilux and Patrol groups rolled in on Saturday morning the towns temporary poulation began to swell and the day,although over cast showed plenty of promise.
With little or no knowledge of local conditions many 'fillies' frocked up and would have spent the day shivering in their champagne.

A five card meet was completed with none of the winners paying more than $6 on track,meaning those once a year punters made sure the bookies left with bag fulls of money,big bags too.

Two years in a row I have backed the winner of the Cup.This was my 5th Quorn Cup and our boys weekend away will continue as our group of 6 is well set and the best part is it is only 362 sleeps until we head off again.
