I have to admit to having doubts about Carrageen Moss being so dangerous. It's been used in cooking for hundreds, if not thousands of years, in Europe. A quick search came up with this info (see 'health concerns')...so it looks like it might just be when under certain conditions that it becomes a hazard.

What I can tell you from childhood experience is that the well known Irish dish Carrageen Moss pudding...a kind of milk jelly/blancmange...is almost without doubt the most disgusting thing you could eat, flavourwise amp;

This Carrageen stuff obviously wouldn't be allowed in it's carcinogen state. Only if you think that there is a conspiracy going on.
And when guidelines like this include "also used in cosmetics" is not any different than staple food ingrediates are used in other methods like bicarbonate soda.

I'd be a lot more worried about anything based on Benzene ring structures as a carcinogen, including PABA used in sunscreens...

I'm into the Feel Good Iced Coffee now, i'm just peeved that not all eateries sell them
