how harness racing can capitalise & make money !!!!!!

Postby bayman » Tue Jul 22, 2008 10:11 pm

we all hear that they have no money etc etc, well what do elizabeth, glenelg, norwood, noarlunga, richmond, unley ovals along with football park have in common ? each club & the sanfl sold the naming rights of those ovals mentioned so why couldn't globe derby have a name change for sponsorship dollars ? i would think that being on the national stage & 52 weeks a year i'd think you'd be able to get more than what the football clubs got & i can tell you the glenelgfc is very happy at the deal they struck with 'challenge recruitment' so why couldn't the trots do the same ? as wedgie says ''it isn't rocket science''

ps, morphettville has done this as well
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Ive got an idea, why dont they sell that mosquito infested dump they call Globe Derby give all those that live in the Globe Derby bubble a 1/2 ass training track to work on and a deep puddle to swim in sell the rest for what you reckon 20-30mil. OK we have now killed two birds with one stone 1. Globe Derby members can no longer choke the life out of this industry 2. plenty of money in the bank. Spend 10mil on Kapunda to have a shit hot facility, once the new expressway is built even the poor deprived Globe Derbians will have an easy trip. OK now we have a top notch facility thats fair for ALL to get to, the bulk of our horses are in Globe, Gawler and Pirie - Kapunda is pretty fair for everyone. We now have say 15mil in the bank which could easily earn about 1.3mil p/a in interest alone and thats about what we need to race for 3k on Fridays 6k on Sat and 2k Mondays. While we are at it grab Gawlers 3.8 mil before they blow it on a state of the art training track for 6 trainers, (half of which are over 60) throw that at our Southern Cross horses, that would give us 150k finals for 2 and 3yo for the next 10 years.

Problem Solved

Cant happen of course.

Dont be silly IRONMAN.

our controlling body dont think like that!! thats crazy thinking...

as for Gawler, thats a joke that there building a big complex for them, if there is only six trainers in there area then why not make them travel to globe derby to work their horses, YES it make costs money to drive there but think of the HUGE money saved in not building a complex for just THEM.. THEY only just got rid of that FACICAL track that was so leader bias that it wasnt funny!!!

Bring on metro racing to SA and we may head in the right direction and more horses MAY stay in the state longer!!!!

You wanna talk crazy powerwatcher lets talk about the fact the industry has just about bled to death yet the Victor Harbour Trotting club is sitting on 1 million in the bank, thats right hard to believe we are goin down the toilet and some two bit club in Retirement Harbour that gets two whole meetings a year is sitting on a mil, and what do they give us $50.00 f**kin dollars for 2 hours of travelling hell. Never again, in fact im gonna call for a boycott of Victor Harbour unless they cough up some green.

This is just one example of how badly our industry is structured, the sooner one board takes controle of all industry assets the better. If Victor Harbour wants to race at all they should hand it over so it can be put to use, same goes for Gawler and Strath ive heard Strath is worth a bomb, sell the dump no one has horses down there do they so whats the point ??????

What does everyone expect! Do you honestly expect any better results from our administration?
Think for a minute who is running HRSA and SAHRC.
Lets start with SAHRC: Peter Marshall a Farrier, a farrier who lobbied for a track down South which didn't eventuate. He did get a football club, lol. The man then ran for a political career with the labour party and was shot down in flames. To think this is the person at the head of the 30+ mil complex - Globe Derby Park. Bronte Giorgio, second in command is a trainer who wants nothing but to race at Globe Derby, could not care less what happens past Pt Wakefield road.

HRSA: Go back a few years for starters, Ian McEwen, was given the ass from Victoria, the board at HRSA thought thats good enough for a job as chief CEO here in Adelaide. Ian's claim to faim is, we are the only state-code to my knowlage that has to pay for home vision of Sky Racing.

Next Ceo, was Mark Carey: Now i'm not 100% on this one, but i do believe he was given the ass from the TAB. The board thought thats good enough to be a chief aministrator here in SA. Marks claim to fame? cried a lot at board meetings.

Gerald Lalor: Sacked from Vic, once again the board thought, that's good enough to run the industry here in SA. Anyone starting to see a patern here? Claim to fame. We have a farcical stand start system which is the joke of Australia: I, to this day have not seen a single fair even start. Numbers (the bum pads) i kind of like, there's some cruel drivers out there.

Why are we the only state in Australia not going foward? Take a look at who's being hired! Do you honestly expect a different result?

your not really fair to Gerald, he has the brilliant idea of changing it to 7 across the front next month too, answer this how many win from 6 now? **** all!!!! so how are you going to win from 7? it's going to be a massive advantage to draw 8 or 9 or to even purposly put your horse out of the draw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and when the keep drawing races on class, the better ones will get an advantage wont they?????????????????
