Tennyson as a suburb is still there, on the military rd side of the lake.

Glanville is still a railway station isn't it?

I think Kelmscott still appears on Google maps.. true story..

Was Tonsley Park ever a suburb?
I mean, there's a station there, and the Mitsubishi plant was always referred to as the plant at "Tonsley Park"

Just googled it and the only mentions of Tonsley Park were for things related to Mitsubishi.

There is an East Adelaide Primary School still open in St Peters and an East Adelaide Tennis club in Newton.

Tennyson is still a suburb, but Glanvillle is no longer.

BINGO!!

TONSLEY PARK - There was an application to have portions of Clovelly Park and Mitchell Park renamed as Tonsley Park not approved by Geographical Names Board, but I don't know when this was.

Kelmscott - There is a Kelsmcott Estate in Rosewater, so is that what Kelmscott changed to?

The Glanville name is still very prominent, train station, pub, Fort Glanville. Its still a suburb, but same postcode as Port Adelaide and Ethelton.

A few of the old suburb names are the names of train stations - Draper, Midlunga.

Portland was located where the Portland Footy Club is, and the Portland Hotel. Used to be a Portland Butcher too from memory.

Yep, correct, I was looking at Glanville Hall Estate, not Glanville when I said it wasn't a suburb anymore......

Is Kudla listed as a suburb? I remember it being a railway station...Kilburn also used to be known as Chicago (which I believe is partially why Kilburn is called the Chicks in Amateur Football?)

Glanville Hall Estate - im guessing that would be where the Par 3 golf course is, and Glanville Hall.

Islington was never a suburb, it was the proposed name for what was a former sewage farm, but was rejected by the Geog Names Board on 25/8/1972, the area is now apart of Kilburn and Regency Park

Glanville Hall Estate - residence of Capt John Hart - Glanville Hall. Glanville Hall named after Hart's mothers maiden name. Capt Hart was chief secretary and treasurer. Originally a private subdivision of section 908. Name formally submitted by City of Port Adelaide.

Importantly, Capt John Hart was one of the founders of the Port Adelaide Football Club, and the first game for the club was played on his estate.

Kudla - name approved in 1982 by geog names board, approved a second time in 1984, name derives from the Kudla Railway Station. Is up near the Munno Para area.
