No surprises there. The ratio of bogans to Commodores in SA would be waaaay scarier I'd wager. Should be banned for P platers and anyone who wears a baseball cap backwards IMHO.

Maybe the amount of Commodores that are seen at the footy at Elizabeth has something to do with the fact that GMH has been our Number 1 sponsor for about 20 years now! A HUGE achievement!

I drive a commodore and I corner on all 4 wheels. Most of the time.

And I service & repair them. An excelllent source of income....as long as it is welfare week around there.

It appears my reputation is saved by the fact that my last Holden was a 1969 HK 327 cube Monaro.
It was capable of 125 mph [200 kph] as they claimed for those Bathurst models - I just had to check, officer...

Ive got a VE Commodore and love it, when in Qld recently I hired a Ford XR6 and there is no comparison...

Speaking of cars & the Elizabeth area, I travelled through there today & the roads were busy with 1989 Camrys & Magnas with Mum & four kids . Must have been visiting all the fathers today. Must be busy getting all those kids to all those houses.

Noone will disagree with ya there Dutchy, almost bought a SV6 but after driving an XR6 there was no comparison. Had to buy the XR6, that 6 speed auto is unbeatable and lets face it, who would buy a car built in Elizabeth when you could buy one built in Geelong, no comparison as you say!

PS Well done to Punk Rooster who was previously a Holden man who purchased an XR6 last week, I too used to be a Holden man but when you want a quality big machine there is no choice.

PPS Congratulations to Ford for building the Falcon that was rated the only 5 star rated safety car ever. No comparison.

I always have a laugh at the Falcon v Commodore thing. They both have their faults.
Good luck with your door lock & window actuators, and Wedgie, go easy on that trans , they are not so bullet proof.
P.S. I know the easy fix when the tiptronic stops working on the Falcons too. Takes 10 mins to fix so if any of you get that one - PM me so that you don't get ripped off somewhere.

I assume these mums other kids were still at home because they didn't know who their fathers were

I'm not a Ford or Holden man- just a man who needs a car.
I had no excessive problems with my VN Calais- age went against it in the end, & it got the DCM.
Really happy with my purchase, believe I did business at a reasonable price- certainly had quite a few comments from friends on facebook.

As for Holdens v Fords?

I owned three Holdens through my youth, but never a Ford. I'd driven a few belonging to friends but felt they steered like barges by comparision.

All my experience with "Old'ns, Flaweds, and Violents", ended in the mid 1970s though, when I moved on to Japanese cars, then European ones.
I vaguely remember driving someone's HQ Holden station wagon, about then, and that steered poorly like a Ford of the era.
