Strong but not too strong and a little creamy without being too creamy.

Love it.

I also rate this article from Vice on the six worst clubs in Adelaide.

1. HQ
2. Red Square
3. Woolshed
4. The London Tavern
5. Mansions
6. Apple

This is a common sentiment. This city has always had a confidence problem and our insecurity soaks deep into everything we do. As a people, we will always be the first to explain, in very clear detail, how terrible we are to anyone who cares to listen. But the moment an outsider has something to say on the subject, we're already halfway across the table with a knife in our teeth.

Apple? What or where is Apple please?

No.5 was my main hangout in year 12 (made good use of the shuttle between it and the tunnel)

I worked at no.3 when it was called Jules.

Because of this, we weren't allowed to frequent no.4, which was then called Rio's

I was at opening night of no.1, although in later years, preferred to frequent upstairs at Joplins as opposed to Heaven itself.

#4 was my regular. I used to have a stack of VIP key rings to pass around to the group to jump the queue.

Couldn't find a cheaper place to drink as a uni student, along with #5.

I may or may not have met my wife at #4 too.

Been to #1 less than a handful of times mainly for gigs, Living End, Grinspoon, Presidents of the United States of America etc.

Got ejected from #3 after Clipsal about 4 years ago after my CC'n'Dry was not "CC'y enough!"

Draped myself on a piano in #4 and karaoke'd "Suspicious Minds" to a Hen's Night group. Been in there maybe 4 times total.

Never been in any of the others.

I've been to a few gigs at #1, and can't stand it as a live music venue. However, it's even worse as a nightclub. On the upside, Buzz Osbourne punched me in the leg there one night, and I happily wore the bruise.

I only went to #2 a dozen times, and only before I was 18. In my opinion, Red Square was (and probably still is), along with Underground, the easiest club in Adelaide to score with the ladies.

I went to #3 once, and I will never go back. That place is a ******* dive.

I have been to #4 a handful of times, mainly for drinks specials. It wasn't too bad, in my opinion.

I used to love going to #5 for the cheap jugs of Long Island Iced Tea, one of my preferred non-beer beverages.

I only went to #6 when it was Church, so I can't really comment on that place.

I haven't been out to town for a long while, but if I did, I'd be more inclined to go to places that played rock/metal/alternative/punk music. The 'doof-doof' does nothing for me.

I'm just as happy to stay home these days, and listen to my kinds of music.

****, I'm becoming a cranky, old bastard.

I used to go to the Elephant, especially before the abbreviation.

I also used to go to Shotz, Enigma Bar, The Rosemont, German Club, 108 (now Strats), Crazy Horse... and others.

Ahhh, the memories of being young, single and on the prowl...

Number 1 has a special place in my heart as I met my girlfriend there. I'd never been there on a Saturday night prior to that, my mates and I just went there to check it out and then I hook up with some random chick and 2 and a half years later we're deeply in love and beginning to build a life together. It's an awesome place for gigs, went to see Reel Big Fish/Goldfinger/Zebrahead there and it was a dream come true.

I refuse to go to number 2.

I've been to the Woolshed quite a bit, been there with my school friends and the cricket boys alot. Always have fun there.

I'll actually be going to number 4 Saturday night for a mates birthday. Had alot of good times there and we love it, $3 beers and $4 spirits can't complain about that.

5. Been there once and it was f**king shithouse!

6. Been there a couple of times, it was alright. Best thing about it was the footy boys and I got in free because one of the bouncers there played at North Haven for a few years.

Stix in Gouger Street and then Shotz on the corner of Pirie and Pultney were the only places to be in the 90's... 90's UK Indie...

I'm getting all emotional just thinking about it...
