The missus and my old man have been sharing a running gag about "Lobster Bisque" for quite some time. Earlier this year in a moment of inebriation the missus declared she'd make it for the old boy, and finally about 8 months later she gave it a crack. F*&# me it was outstanding. I've gotta get in the old boys ear about making sure it becomes a regular fixture.

Speaking of cooking up a feast.....

My Texas BBQ Pork Ribs made their public debut yesterday......3 kg went in a flash after 4 hours smoking out the neighbours. Well worth my effort of stumbling out of bed with a hangover to cook them!

A bloke at work was at a garage sale on the weekend and got me the Footy Budgets from our 1971 finals against Sturt and Port. Got em from Barry Noteworthy's lad. They're still in bloody good nick, was a nice surprise this morning.

15yo son getting his first real job at Woolies, proud of him. Had to do up a Resume, walked into a number of places to drop it off and get through an interview and testing last week. The kid is growing up!

Yes, the one I bought new, an HR Special cost me $2700.
I couldn't stand the 2 speed auto transmission and traded it in a year for an later for an HK 327 Bathurst Monaro model which I think was about $3700.
Mind you I bought a 2 bedroom house in Vale Park the same year for $10800. My annual salary as young doctor at the RAH then was $3700.

Times have changed...

It's so handy, my 15 yo daughter got a job in the local Woolies bakery a few months back, she clears $300-$400 every week with a few hours here and there after school and on weekends, the only downfall is that she was playing A grade district cricket but that's had to go for a season, they do accommodate for her footy and state try-outs though.
