Fathers Day
It hurts waking up each year and not having a dad to ring and catch up for a couple of beers on the day but before too long I'm lifted by well wishes from my kids.
Picked up two 1kg chunks of rib-eye from Crestline meats for $20 per kg and sat by the Weber cooking them downing a few beers listening to a few of the old man's favourites, True Blue got a few runs.
Had a great family dinner, everyone was in their element and taking turns in paying each other out, feeling pretty ordinary now but it was well worth it.
As much as I loved my kids being little, it's so much fun as they get older.

Being as close as you were mate, I feel for you.

I got the old Falcon out the shed and gave her a wash, went for a cruise on my own with the phone/bluetooth playing some of my favorite tunes, popped in and saw Dad before he went out for lunch at my brothers.

Back home and around to The Pear for a big breakfast ( PS - top quality ), home for an hour or so then down to Pirate Life for several, took the edge off, back home to cook a BBQ tea ( some cracking ribs ) and fell asleep, pissed, around 7:30.

Woke up fresh as a daisy.

We stayed in the city Saturday night then got out of our hotel just before 10am to rush down to Mawson Lakes Hotel as their breakfast's are second to none, they were fully booked

Made up for it by cooking our own along with some warm fresh made Turkish bread.

And that is another thing I rate highly, warm Turkish bread straight from the bakery oven, there's one on Prospect Road that just cannot be topped, best $2.50 spent over the weekend.

My Fathers Day present was a win in the morning in my first ever Elimination Final against the old enemy Happy Valley. 8)

Then down to the bay for dinner to see parents who had cooked traditional homemade cornish pasties for dinner, my Grandma's recipe from Moonta, beautiful.

Hang on, got to stick up for TDK here. That wasn’t the only reason he said something.

And TDK wasn’t the only poster to mention it

Can I "like" both comments?

Good, I did.

I was nearly offended that others were offended at something that really was inoffensive IMO.

Everyone's wired differently and see things from different angles, we've gotta expect a clash every now and then, even when it's from two people we like.

Been into Imperial Measure Distillery on West Thebby Road mate?

Mrs Boon reckons the Signature Gin is the best gin she's tried.

We were giving it a run last summer, then I discovered how nice CC's and tonic was.

Ah. Times have changed. I should be more aware of societal norms. Back to the member berries.

Apologies all.
