Back to office work mate. Hardly been working this year as I'd given up most weekends and night s, retirement doesn't sit well with me and I need to use my brain again.
Start June 14, initially in Franklin St in town.

Doubt it, I've drunk much less since working in a pub!
Might be sneaking a few in on the wrong side of the bar tonight though. ;)

What happened?

I'm finding retirement boring, gave up working weekends and nights a while ago so was only doing up to 10 hours a week to keep my woolies discount card. Want to start using my brain again.
Have been offered a few jobs over the years and now seemed a good time to accept one especially with a new government,
Never worked for the place I've been offered a job too which always had benefits I was previosly jealous of and will be a new role with lots of study and possibility of working from home so am really excited to jump at it. :D
Will reasses doing nothing again in a few years, had a great break for now,

I retired from full time medical work over 10 years ago and now only do a 6 to 8 week stint each year to keep my options open. Nice pocket money and I get the rest of the year off. (A trip to Townsville in 2014 bought me my Renault Megane RS.)

I don't get bored. My new wife since 2019 is a few years younger than me and very social - involved in theatre, Rotary, and other activities, including having been a TV producer in the past. We expect to travel a lot more again now CV-19 is slowly settling. We are off to a job I've taken in Perth for the next 2 months - it will be a little warmer there.

Selling my investment property down Port Noarlunga South during the week. The first 9 years it went up about 25% value, in the last 18 months its gone up 80% in value  8) :D

Will help cover the build costs of new house as we get closer to completion and start working on backyard and fence etc. And potentially start thinking about re-training for a less stressful job that doesn't require being away from family for half the year.

Hmmm, my company's head office is in Franklin St with a couple of sites in the burbs. Most new employees start up there too :-?

#capitalgainstaxOUCH!

I had this happen to me in the early to mid 2000's and got a really nice bill from the tax man at the end of financial year. All I can say is, if you do, offer to pay it back instalments.

If you get the chance before end of financial year, speak to someone to see if you are able to dodge it by investing in something else, considered to be a tax offset.

Walking into work on a dreary Monday morning and finding an envelope with a $500 gift card hiding in it sitting on my desk.
