Disgusting, I know they're only kids but to do something like that they're showing they've got no chance of rehab and will only be a bigger menace to society when they're older. Lock the little bastards up for life IMHO.

Thats crap, who would do that? honesty, these kids have serious problems, they're probably already involved with drugs and alcohol. Losers is what they are...... they will have no life.

How could it possibly be 'fun' or entertaining to beat up an old flamingo? If I knew them in any capacity they would never feel/hear the end of it.

Sick f*ckers. The thing that makes me more angry is knowing they won't get punished at all. They will get a slap on the wrist and told not to be naughty again. They are not kids either. They are aged between 17 and 19. They knew what they were doing and obviously found it entertaining. Why is beyond me and anyone who finds that entertaining has no place in our society IMHO.

There are some very nasty people out there, presumably not being trained to control their nasty impulses.

The old Enfield Hospital [formerly Enfield Receiving Home] used to have a small zoo and some patients usually got something out of helping the volunteer staff look after the animals, but it was eventually closed because every so often someone admitted with a major psychotic disorder would slaughter some of the animals rather cruelly. It was usually someone in a paranoid state, so early psychosis could be a factor in this episode.

One of the culprits at Enfield's zoo, turned out not to be psychotic, but a late teens drug abuser who had murdered a woman and then got himself admitted, by faking a story of auditory hallucinations, to try to prepare an insanity defence before he was arrested. It didn't work.

I have been preparing just such a defence for any future issues I may face for several years now.

Most of my friends would agree I have made a very strong case.

Just heard on the radio news that the flamingo's condition has improved so here's hoping it continues to recover and isn't distressed. Such great looking animals and by the sounds of it quite intellingent.

The line up to get at them would cause traffic delays.

Starts with animals and eventually will end up with other people.
Weak **** to pick on something that won't fight back.

In all seriousness though, I just don't understand what goes through kids minds that they feel the need to hurt a harmless flamingo

I hope the little buggers are made to shovel elephant/giraffe/bear/lion/tiger poo for a year as part of their punishment
